Summary of single nucleotide polymorphisms in filaggrin associated with atopic dermatitis

open access: yesJEADV Clinical Practice
Background Loss of function mutations in the filaggrin gene (FLG) play an important role in the pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis (AD). However, FLG is structurally challenging to sequence using conventional high‐throughput techniques.

Clinical and Molecular Effect of the Anti–IL‐18 Antibody Aletekitug in Adults With Atopic Dermatitis

open access: yesAllergy, Volume 81, Issue 2, Page 539-551, February 2026.
At Week 12, aletekitug was associated with a −68.3% percentage change from baseline in EASI score. Aletekitug improved the transcriptional profile of lesional skin towards that of non‐lesional skin at Week 4 and Week 12. Aletekitug was well‐tolerated; no serious adverse event or death occurred, and no patient withdrew due to an adverse event.

Pathogenic Variants in Mennonites From Southern Brazil: Implications for Preventive Measures in Public Health

open access: yesClinical Genetics, Volume 109, Issue 2, Page 266-276, February 2026.
In 325 exomes of South Brazilian Mennonites, we identified 23 pathogenic variants (P) and 27 likely P, with founder effects identified for 96% of P, whose frequencies differed from non‐Finnish Europeans, Amish, and Brazilian populations. ABSTRACT The Mennonite population has a unique history of 500 years of genetic isolation shaped by at least three ...

Topical Glucose Induces Claudin-1 and Filaggrin Expression in a Mouse Model of Atopic Dermatitis and in Keratinocyte Culture, Exerting Anti-inflammatory Effects by Repairing Skin Barrier Function

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica, 2017
Atopic dermatitis (AD) is a chronic inflammatory skin disease. Corticosteroids, which are widely used for AD treatment, have adverse effects, and alternative treatments are urgently needed.

Deiminált fehérjeantigének szerepének vizsgálata a rheumatoid arthritis patomechanizmusában és diagnosztikájában = Study of the role of deiminated protein antigens in the pathomechanism and diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Eredmények: 1. Szintetikus peptidekkel igazoltuk, hogy a citrullin nélkülözhetetlen az anti-filaggrin típusú , rheumatoid arthritisre (RA) specifikus antitestek által felismert epitópok szerkezetében.

Evaluation of the sensitive skin syndrome and the effect of a dermo‐cosmetic treatment in Thai and Polish subjects

open access: yesInternational Journal of Cosmetic Science, Volume 48, Issue 1, Page 70-82, February 2026.
Sensitive skin assessment in Thai and Polish subjects showed a dermo‐cosmetic product improved symptoms and quality of life in both groups, also highlighting ethnic differences in syndrome perception at baseline. Abstract Objective Sensitive skin syndrome (SSS) affects individuals from all ethnic groups.

Variation in the activities of late stage filaggrin processing enzymes, calpain-1 and bleomycin hydrolase, together with pyrrolidone carboxylic acid levels, corneocyte phenotypes and plasmin activities in non-sun-exposed and sun-exposed facial stratum corneum of different ethnicities [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
BACKGROUND: Knowledge of the ethnic differences and effects of photodamage on the relative amounts of natural moisturizing factor (NMF) together with filaggrin processing enzymes in facial stratum corneum is limited.

Incidence Rate of Otitis Externa Episodes in Atopic Dogs Is Reduced by a Therapeutic Diet in a 6‐Month Randomised, Blinded, Controlled, Clinical Trial

open access: yesVeterinary Dermatology, Volume 37, Issue 1, Page 89-102, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Recurrent otitis externa (OE) episodes commonly affect dogs with canine atopic dermatitis (cAD) despite ongoing cAD treatment. Objective To determine if a therapeutic diet with active ingredients targeting the skin barrier and allergy pathways reduces the incidence rate of OE.

Filaggrin Mutation Status and Prevention of Atopic Dermatitis with Maternal Probiotic Supplementation

open access: yesActa Dermato-Venereologica
The World Allergy Organization recommends probiotics in the prevention of atopic dermatitis in high-risk populations. Mutations in the filaggrin gene (FLG) result in an increased risk of atopic dermatitis through disruption of the skin keratin layer ...
