Fused deposition modeling of polypropylene-aluminium silicate dihydrate microcomposites

open access: yese-Polymers, 2022
Polypropylene (PP) undergoes fast crystallization and resulting in rigorous shrinkage when it is subjected to high temperature likewise of the fused deposition modeling (FDM) process.

Relationship Between Electrical Instability and Pumping Performance During Ventricular Tachyarrhythmia: Computational Study

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2020
There are representative electrical parameters for understanding the mechanism of reentrant waves in studies on tachyarrhythmia, namely the action potential duration (APD), dominant frequency, phase singularity, and filament.

Development of 3D Printing Raw Materials from Plastic Waste. A Case Study on Recycled Polyethylene Terephthalate

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2021
Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is the most common 3D printing technology. An object formed through continuous layering until completion is known as an additive process while other processes with different methods are also relevant.

Are tau aggregates toxic or protective in tauopathies?

open access: yesFrontiers in Neurology, 2013
Aggregation of highly-phosphorylated tau into aggregated forms such as filaments and neurofibrillary tangles is one of the defining pathological hallmarks of Alzheimer’s disease and other tauopathies.

Sensing Trace-Level Metal Elements in Water Using Chirped Femtosecond Laser Pulses in the Filamentation Regime

open access: yesSensors, 2022
Femtosecond filament-induced breakdown spectroscopy (FIBS) is an efficient approach in remote and in situ detection of a variety of trace elements, but it was recently discovered that the FIBS of water is strongly dependent on the large-bandgap ...

Filamentous Fungi

open access: yesMicrobiology Spectrum, 2016
ABSTRACTFilamentous mycoses are often associated with significant morbidity and mortality. Prompt diagnosis and aggressive treatment are essential for good clinical outcomes in immunocompromised patients. The host immune response plays an essential role in determining the course of exposure to potential fungal pathogens.

Design and Characterization of a Screw Extrusion Hot-End for Fused Deposition Modeling

open access: yesMolecules, 2021
The filament is the most widespread feedstock material form used for fused deposition modeling printers. Filaments must be manufactured with tight dimensional tolerances, both to be processable in the hot-end and to obtain printed objects of high quality.

Transport barrier and spinning blob dynamics in the tokamak edge

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2023
In this work, we investigate the dynamics of plasma blobs in the edge of magnetic confinement devices using a full-f gyrokinetic particle-in-cell code with X-point geometry.

Determination of the Maximum Velocity of Filaments in the in vitro Motility Assay

open access: yesFrontiers in Physiology, 2019
The in vitro motility assay (IVMA) is a powerful tool commonly used in basic muscle research and for drug screenings with the aim to find treatment options for neuromuscular disorders.

Spectral broadening from turbulence in multiscale lower hybrid current drive simulations

open access: yesNuclear Fusion, 2022
The scattering of lower hybrid (LH) waves due to scrape-off layer filaments is investigated. It is revealed that scattering can account for the LH spectral gap without any ad hoc modification to the wave-spectrum.
