Identification and recovery of JPEG files with missing fragments

open access: yesDigital Investigation, 2009
Recovery of fragmented files proves to be a challenging task for encoded files like JPEG. In this paper, we consider techniques for addressing two issues related to fragmented JPEG file recovery. First issue concerns more efficient identification of the next fragment of a file undergoing recovery.

EnCoD: Distinguishing Compressed and Encrypted File Fragments [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Reliable identification of encrypted file fragments is a requirement for several security applications, including ransomware detection, digital forensics, and traffic analysis. A popular approach consists of estimating high entropy as a proxy for randomness. However, many modern content types (e.g.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

On Elaboration of the Method of Identifying Clusters Belonging to JPEG Files

open access: yesБезопасность информационных технологий, 2014
The results of the experimental attempts of elaboration of the previously proposed method for identifying clusters belonging to JPEG files are described. Type II errors rates for different file formats are estimated.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

On Possible Expansion o f Data Carving for JPEG files Recovery

open access: yesБезопасность информационных технологий, 2013
A possible application of the author’s method of differentiation of clusters belonging to JPEG files from other clusters on the digital media for expanding of existing data recovery methods is described in the work.
