Experimental system design for online characterization and performance analysis of PV module under distinguish environmental conditions

open access: yesEAI Endorsed Transactions on Energy Web, 2020
This paper is a novel attempt to evaluate the performance of photovoltaic (PV) modules using current-voltage (I-V) and power-voltage (P-V) characteristics.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Efficiency Prediction and Performance Characterization of Photovoltaic Solar Panel at Baghdad Climate Conditions

open access: yesAl-Khawarizmi Engineering Journal, 2013
The performance of a solar cell under sun radiation is necessary to describe the electrical parameters of the cell. The Prova 200 solar panel analyzer is used for the professional testing of four solar cells at Baghdad climate conditions.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Fabrication and Characterization of Tungsten-Modified TiO2 as a Photo-Anode in a Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell

open access: yesEngineering Proceedings
The tungsten (W)-modified TiO2 films were fabricated on the fluorine-doped TiO2 substrates using the sol–gel process. The influences of W dopant on the photovoltaic properties of the tungsten-modified TiO2 DSSC were analyzed, too. The crystallization and

The low filling factor of dust in the Galaxy

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1992
The neighborhood of 745 luminous stars in the IRAS Skyflux plates was examined for the presence of dust heated by the nearby star. One-hundred twenty-three dust clouds were found around only 106 of the stars with a volume filling factor of 0.006 and an intercloud separation of 46 pc.

Three phosphatase families form a community: The phosphohydrolases that act upon inositol pyrophosphates

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Inositol pyrophosphates are energy‐rich signaling molecules that perform critical functions in cells. Three different families of phosphatases hydrolyze the β phosphate of the inositol pyrophosphate molecules: two have narrow specificities and one is promiscuous.

Double‐Dipole Induced by Incorporating Nitrogen‐Bromine Hybrid Cathode Interlayers Leads to Suppressed Current Leakage and Enhanced Charge Extraction in Non‐Fullerene Organic Solar Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, 2023
The cathode interlayer plays a vital role in organic solar cells, which can modify the work function of electrodes, lower the electron extraction barriers, smooth the surface of the active layer, and remove solvent residuals.

Modelling stem cell differentiation related processes—A practical overview for biologists

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Stem cell differentiation is complex and difficult to control experimentally. This review introduces suitable computational modelling approaches that can support stem cell research, from mechanistic ODE and abstract models to multiscale and deep learning methods.

Measurements of composite Skyrmions at filling factor

open access: yesPhysica B: Condensed Matter, 1998
Measurements of the fractional quantum Hall effect energy gaps at high pressures are presented that provide evidence for the existence of composite Skyrmions. Just as charged spin textures known as Skyrmions are thought to be the lowest lying excitations for electrons at v = 1, we show that composite Skyrmions can be formed at v = 1/3 when the electron
