Revealing the structure of land plant photosystem II: the journey from negative‐stain EM to cryo‐EM

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Advances in cryo‐EM have revealed the detailed structure of Photosystem II, a key protein complex driving photosynthesis. This review traces the journey from early low‐resolution images to high‐resolution models, highlighting how these discoveries deepen our understanding of light harvesting and energy conversion in plants.

Distribution laws and characteristics of mud films at casing–cement interfaces in horizontal wells

open access: yesNatural Gas Industry B, 2020
The mud film thickness on the outer surface of casing and its distribution laws are important factors affecting the cementation quality at casing–cement interfaces.

Establishment of the falling film evaporation model and correlation of the overall heat transfer coefficient [PDF]

open access: yesRoyal Society Open Science, 2019
In order to study the heat transfer of the falling film evaporator with phase change on both sides, in this paper we built the mathematical model and the physical model where the liquid film inside the tube is laminar and turbulent. The film thickness of

Properties of mesoscopic superconducting thin-film rings. London approach

open access: yes, 2003
Superconducting thin-film rings smaller than the film penetration depth (the Pearl length) are considered. The current distribution, magnetic moment, and thermodynamic potential ${\cal F}(H,N,v)$ for a flat, washer-shaped annular ring in a uniform ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

МЕЖДУНАРОДНЫЕ СВЯЗИ СОВЕТСКОЙ КИНЕМАТОГРАФИИ В ГОДЫ «ОТТЕПЕЛИ»

open access: yesSovremennye Issledovaniâ Socialʹnyh Problem, 2015
Если 1950-е годы можно назвать периодом знакомства советского кинематографа с опытом более удачливых (на политической, в первую очередь, арене) собратьев, то 1960-е годы – это уже равноправный диалог достаточно развитой советской кинематографии с ...

Sequence determinants of RNA G‐quadruplex unfolding by Arg‐rich regions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We show that Arg‐rich peptides selectively unfold RNA G‐quadruplexes, but not RNA stem‐loops or DNA/RNA duplexes. This length‐dependent activity is inhibited by acidic residues and is conserved among SR and SR‐related proteins (SRSF1, SRSF3, SRSF9, U1‐70K, and U2AF1).

Non-accidental presence. The reception of Krzysztof Kieślowski in Russia

open access: yesImages, 2019
Krzysztof Kieślowski is a cult figure among Russian moviegoers, but “proving” this is not as easy as in the case of the popularity of other Polish classic names in Russia, such as Andrzej Wajda and Krzysztof Zanussi.
