Effect of Grain Size and Film Thickness on the Thermoelectric Properties of Flexible Sb2Te3 Thin Films

open access: yesAdvances in Materials Science and Engineering, 2019
In this work, stoichiometric Sb2Te3 thin films with various thicknesses were deposited on a flexible substrate using RF magnetron sputtering. The grain size and thickness effects on the thermoelectric properties, such as the Seebeck coefficient (S ...

Ideal Molecular Sieving with a Dense MOF for Helium Upgrading with Highly Diffusion Selective Mixed Matrix Membranes

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The separation of Helium gas from natural gas is challenging but highly important. MIL‐116(Ga), a “non‐porous” metal–organic framework is used as a molecular sieve to separate He from CH4. Druse‐like MIL‐116(Ga) particles are integrated into polysulfone mixed matrix membranes.

Occurrence of Hysteresis like behavior of resistance of $Sb_2 Te_3$ film in heating-cooling cycle

open access: yes, 2004
Experimental observations of a peculiar behavior observed on heating and cooling ${\rm Sb_2Te_3}$ films at different heating and cooling rate are detailed. The film regained its original resistance, forming a closed loop, on the completion of the heating-

Advancing Electronic Application of Coordination Solids: Enhancing Electron Transport and Device Integration via Surface‐Mounted MOFs (SURMOFs)

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The layer‐by‐layer (LbL) assembly of coordination solids, enabled by the surface‐mounted metal‐organic framework (SURMOF) platform, is on the cusp of generating the organic counterpart of the epitaxy of inorganics. The programmable and sequential SURMOF protocol, optimized by machine learning (ML), is suited for accessing high‐quality thin films of ...

Thick film bonding [PDF]

open access: yes, 1979
The project was undertaken to determine the characteristics of thick film conductors that affect thermocompression bonding. Thick film inks were analyzed to determine compositional characteristics that could be used as acceptance criteria. Analytical methods evaluated included thermogravimetric analysis, pyrolysis gas chromatography, infrared ...

Influence of Lubricant Properties on Elastohydrodynamic Oil Film Thickness in Angular Contact Ball Bearings: A Numerical Investigation

open access: yesApplied Mechanics
Predicting oil film thickness at ball–raceway contacts under elastohydrodynamic lubrication (EHL) conditions remains a complex tribological challenge. This complexity arises from dynamic variations in contact load, rotational speed, hydrodynamic effects,

On the Temperature and Lubricant Film Thickness Distribution in EHL Contacts with Arbitrary Entrainment

open access: yesLubricants, 2018
An understanding of mechanisms which are responsible for elastohydrodynamic lubricant film formation under high sliding conditions is necessary to increase durability of machine parts.

Thin film limits for Ginzburg--Landau with strong applied magnetic fields [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this work, we study thin-film limits of the full three-dimensional Ginzburg-Landau model for a superconductor in an applied magnetic field oriented obliquely to the film surface.

Enhancing Low‐Temperature Performance of Sodium‐Ion Batteries via Anion‐Solvent Interactions

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
DOL is introduced into electrolytes as a co‐solvent, increasing slat solubility, ion conductivity, and the de‐solvent process, and forming an anion‐rich solvent shell due to its high interaction with anion. With the above virtues, the batteries using this electrolyte exhibit excellent cycling stability at low temperatures. Abstract Sodium‐ion batteries
