Photoconductivity of Thick Film Resistors
Hybrid Circuits, 1988A weak change of resistivity caused by visible radiation both for commercial and for model thick-film (cermet) resistors (TFRs) has been observed and studied in the temperature range 10–380 K. A possible origin of this photoelectric effect in terms of photoexcited electrons emitted from the metallic grain surface into the glassy region is discussed.

Dependence of film tension on the thickness of smectic films
Physical Review E, 2003The film tension tau of free standing S(A) films has been measured for films with thicknesses between 2 and 150 layers. There is a clear increase of tau with the thickness for very thin films and a nonlinear slower increase for high thickness. The nonlinearity depends on the amount of liquid crystal accessible to the meniscus of the film during the ...

Thickness Distribution in Thin Film
Japanese Journal of Applied Physics, 1977Abstract A thickness distribution function is used to describe the non-uniformity of thickness in thin films. A method to determine the thickness distribution function is proposed and applied to r.f. diode-sputtered ultrathin films of platinum deposited onto liquid-nitrogen-cooled quartz substrates.

Method and apparatus for measuring film thickness and film thickness growth
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 2008A device for measuring thickness and/or rate of thickness increase of a film comprises at least one piezoelectric element, and first and second electrodes in contact with the piezoelectric element. A method of measuring thickness and/or rate of thickness increase of a film comprises applying a voltage across a piezoelectric element from a first ...

Hybrid Circuits, 1982
This paper looks at the growth, current situation and future of the thick film hybrid industry worldwide. The approach taken has been to regard the thick film hybrid as primarily a sub-assembly, both from a commercial and technical point of view. This helps to identify those major features that have shaped the industry and will influence its future.

The Thickness of the Helium Film
Physical Review, 1954It is suggested that the change in thickness of the helium film at the $\ensuremath{\lambda}$ point is not caused by any essential change in the thermodynamic relation between film thickness, pressure, and temperature. It can be a result of the onset of superfluidity below the $\ensuremath{\lambda}$ point which causes a great change in the rate of ...

Control of film thickness is an important part of paint testing. Film thickness measurements are a check on other associated tests in the laboratory, on the skill and will of the journeyman painter, and on the performance of automatic painting machinery.
