When we want to think of Jared Diamond as a philosopher of history, we have to start right at G. W. F. Hegel, who is considered to be the key personality of the traditional philosophy of history.

2007Na začátku cesty, kterou jsem musel při tvorbě této práce projít, nebylo možno dohlédnout jejího cíle. Ten byl skryt někde daleko za horizontem. Přítomné bylo jen tušení, že někde snad je a nakonec se ukáže. Byla to dlouhá cesta, sem tam se mi šlo dobře, jinde jsem musel odpočívat a nabírat nové síly. Krajina, kterou jsem procházel, byla nová a neznámá.
