Fractional Transforms in Optical Information Processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
We review the progress achieved in optical information processing during the last decade by applying fractional linear integral transforms. The fractional Fourier transform and its applications for phase retrieval, beam characterization, space-variant ...

Application of myriad filtering in real-time trend detection algorithms

open access: yesМіжнародний науково-технічний журнал "Проблеми керування та інформатики"
Detecting nonlinear (with sharp changes) signal trends in pseudo-real-time is necessary in many digital signal-processing applications. In biomedical signal processing, it is essential to eliminate abrupt signal distortions caused by the patientʼs ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Hardware Efficient Digital Filter Design by Multi-Mode Mean Field Annealing

open access: yes, 2001
The multi-mode mean field annealing (MM-MFA) approach is introduced as an efficient tool to design digital filters with discrete coefficients, each implemented as a sum of signed power-of-two terms, and additional general hardware constraints. As

Preconditioning Filter Bank Decomposition Using Structured Normalized Tight Frames

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2015
We turn a given filter bank into a filtering scheme that provides perfect reconstruction, synthesis is the adjoint of the analysis part (so-called unitary filter banks), all filters have equal norm, and the essential features of the original filter bank ...

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

Design of Oversampled Uniform DFT Filter Banks with Reduced Inband Aliasing and Delay Constraints

open access: yes, 2001
Subband adaptive filters have been proposed to avoid the drawbacks of slow convergence and high computational complexity associated with time domain adaptive filters.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.

Paraunitary oversampled filter bank design for channel coding

open access: yes, 2006
Oversampled filter banks (OSFBs) have been considered for channel coding, since their redundancy can be utilised to permit the detection and correction of channel errors.

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
