Tutorial: Digital filtering and processing of signals [PDF]

open access: yesBehavior Research Methods & Instrumentation, 1973
Behav. Res. Meth. & Instru., 1973, Vol. 5 (2) Digi tal filtering was described as a general mathematical technique of processing sequences of sampled data points analogous to the action of electrical or mechanical filtering. The discussion often referred to filtering as taking place in the time dimension, although it was noted that it could take place ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Hanning FIR window filtering analysis for EEG signals

open access: yesBiomedical Analysis
The window function is a mathematical function in signal processing that is multiplied by a signal to lessen or eliminate the impact of undesired characteristics such as spectral leakage and edge effects that might arise while analyzing finite-duration ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Observations on adaptive vector filters for noise reduction in color images

open access: yes, 2004
In a series of papers, Plataniotis et al. proposed a number of filters for noise reduction in color images where the noise type is unknown. In this letter, those filters with a unified notation are summarized, and it is shown that they are essentially ...

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...

Performance of Reconstruction Algorithm Based on Sub-Nyquist Bandpass Sampling in the Pulse Position Modulation-Ultra Wide Band System

open access: yesLeida xuebao, 2015
The signal reconstruction algorithm with sub-Nyquist bandpass sampling in Pulse Position Modulation-Ultra Wide Band (PPM-UWB) signal processing is analyzed based on PPM-UWB signal demodulation.

Network divergence analysis identifies adaptive gene modules and two orthogonal vulnerability axes in pancreatic cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Tumors contain diverse cellular states whose behavior is shaped by context‐dependent gene coordination. By comparing gene–gene relationships across biological contexts, we identify adaptive transcriptional modules that reorganize into distinct vulnerability axes.

An adaptive Kalman filter for ECG signal enhancement [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
The ongoing trend of ECG monitoring techniques to become more ambulatory and less obtrusive generally comes at the expense of decreased signal quality.

Application of adaptive filter in fruit quality inspection based on its acoustic properties

open access: yes浙江大学学报. 农业与生命科学版, 2003
The fruit quality inspecting system consisted of a electromagnet, a striking ball wrapped in rubber, a sensor with 2 microphones at a distance of 0.06 m, a set of signal processing circuit, and a computer with a data acquisition board.
