Multilayer Antenna-Filter Antenna for Beam-Steering Transmit-Array Applications
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 2012This paper presents a study on reconfigurable transmit-array (TA) antennas based on multilayer tunable elements. The proposed configuration can be referred to as a multilayer antenna-filter antenna (MAFA) and it can be viewed as an extension of the antenna-filter antenna concept.

UWB filter-antenna using Spiral Resonator
2010 Loughborough Antennas & Propagation Conference, 2010This paper presents simple and low cost implementations of very wideband antennas using Spiral Resonator (SR) to perform band-rejection filtering within the band. Details on SR design are first given and filter design is then applied on a UWB antenna to filter the WLAN band.

Each unit cell represents a passive receiver-transmitter structure with integrated phase-shifter, which can take either of two coding states corresponding 180° phase difference between the states.
