Robust Filters for Intensive Care Monitoring: Beyond the Running Median [PDF]

open access: yes
Current alarm systems on intensive care units create a very high rate of false positive alarms because most of them simply compare the physiological measurements to fixed thresholds.

Deciphering transcriptional plasticity in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma reveals alterations in sensory neuron innervation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pancreatic sensory neurons innervating healthy and PDAC tissue were retrogradely labeled and profiled by single‐cell RNA sequencing. Tumor‐associated innervation showed a dominant neurofilament‐positive subtype, altered mitochondrial gene signatures, and reduced non‐peptidergic neurons.

Methods of temporal signal processing in an adaptive transversal filter

open access: yesJournal of Radio Electronics
A single-channel adaptive transversal filter based on a multi-tap delay line is considered. It is assumed that the filter is affected by broadband interference, which is a rather complicated case in practice. This problem is typical for radar systems and electronic warfare systems. Two methods of digital signal processing are proposed. The first method

Generalized linear-in-parameter models : theory and audio signal processing applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
This thesis presents a mathematically oriented perspective to some basic concepts of digital signal processing. A general framework for the development of alternative signal and system representations is attained by defining a generalized linear-in ...

Nonlinear filtering for LIDAR signal processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
LIDAR (Laser Integrated Radar) is an engineering problem of great practical importance in environmental monitoring sciences. Signal processing for LIDAR applications involves highly nonlinear models and consequently nonlinear filtering. Optimal nonlinear

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Robust detail-preserving signal extraction [PDF]

open access: yes
We discuss robust filtering procedures for signal extraction from noisy time series. Particular attention is paid to the preservation of relevant signal details like abrupt shifts. moving averages and running medians are widely used but have shortcomings
