A silicon implementation of the fly's optomotor control system [PDF]

open access: yes, 2000
Flies are capable of stabilizing their body during free flight by using visual motion information to estimate self-rotation. We have built a hardware model of this optomotor control system in a standard CMOS VLSI process. The result is a small, low-power

Large‐scale bidirectional arrayed genetic screens identify OXR1 and EMC4 as modifiers of αSynuclein aggregation

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Activation of the mitochondrial protein OXR1 increases pSyn129 αSynuclein aggregation by lowering ATP levels and altering mitochondrial membrane potential, particularly in response to MSA‐derived fibrils. In contrast, ablation of the ER protein EMC4 enhances autophagic flux and lysosomal clearance, broadly reducing α‐synuclein aggregates.

Miniature filtering power divider with increased isolation bandwidth

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 2014
A novel filtering power divider (PD) with an extended isolation bandwidth is proposed. Adopting a frequency‐dependent resistor–inductor–capacitor isolation network enabled designing and improving isolation performance. An embedded 90° filtering line was realised by employing two coupled quarter‐wavelength resonators to achieve a ...

Optimizing photoactivation of PA‐mCherry for optical pooled CRISPR screens

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Photoactivatable PA‐mCherry finds widespread use to optically tag individual cells. However, confocal 405 nm UV laser‐scanning (normal scan) is much less efficient than widefield UV illumination, limiting the use of PA‐mCherry on confocal instruments. We remedy this limitation by reporting that rapid and repeated confocal scanning with a low‐intensity,

Multi-Functional Filtering Power Divider with a Reconfigurable Frequency and Ultrawide Isolator Functionality [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Electromagnetic Engineering and Science
In this paper, we describe the co-design of a multi-functional non-reciprocal filtering power divider (NR-FPD) with ultrawide reverse isolation and frequency reconfigurable functionality. The proposed NR-FPD offers an arbitrary power division ratio (PDR)

Method and apparatus for quadriphase-shift-key and linear phase modulation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
A submultiple of an S-band transmitter output frequency was divided equally between a linear phase modulation branch and a QPSK modulation branch. The linear modulation branch includes a multiplier to increase the carrier frequency to a level which, when

A 3D Integrated Miniaturised Filtering Power Divider

open access: yesElectronics Letters
ABSTRACT A 3D integrated miniaturised filtering power divider (FPD) has been proposed in this letter. The proposed 3D FPD is distributed and interconnected in vertical multilayers. Multi‐line couplings are applied to achieve power distribution, and a stub is miniaturised into a symmetric structure through 3D folding and branching ...

Functional Connectivity Linked to Cognitive Recovery After Minor Stroke

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Patients with minor stroke exhibit slowed processing speed and generalized alterations in functional connectivity involving frontoparietal cortex (FPC). The pattern of connectivity evolves over time. In this study, we examine the relationship of functional connectivity patterns to cognitive performance, to determine ...
