A Dual-Band Balanced-to-Balanced Power Divider With High Selectivity and Wide Stopband

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
A dual-band balanced-to-balanced (BTB) filtering power divider (FPD) is presented, which can achieve an in-phase power division with high selectivity.

Planar Solid‐State Nanopores Toward Scalable Nanofluidic Integration Based on CMOS Technology

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
We present a scalable silicon‐based fabrication strategy for planar solid‐state nanopores to enable their integration with complex nanofluidic systems. Prototype devices demonstrate normal voltage‐current characteristics, good noise performance, and appreciable streaming currents. Our CMOS‐compatible fabrication process offers precise geometric control

What Do Large Language Models Know About Materials?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
If large language models (LLMs) are to be used inside the material discovery and engineering process, they must be benchmarked for the accurateness of intrinsic material knowledge. The current work introduces 1) a reasoning process through the processing–structure–property–performance chain and 2) a tool for benchmarking knowledge of LLMs concerning ...

Compact Wideband High-Selectivity Filtering Power Divider Using Four-Coupled-Lines [PDF]

open access: yesRadioengineering
In the paper, a compact wideband filtering power divider (FPD) with high frequency selectivity is presented, which is merely based on the four-coupled-lines (FCLs) and isolated resistors.

Field Report from Collaborative Research Center 1625: Heterogeneous Research Data Management Using Ontology Representations

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A unified research data management framework for heterogeneous materials data is presented. The system integrates multimodal datasets using ontologies and knowledge graphs, enabling interoperability and FAIR (findable, accessible, interoperable, reusable) data principles. By linking data across scales and workflows, it supports reproducible, Artifitial

Three‐Way Equal Filtering Power Divider for Modern Communication Systems

open access: yesEngineering Reports
This article proposes a three‐way (3‐way) equal filtering power divider (FPD) employing the microstrip compact folded‐arms square open‐loop resonator (FASOLR). The proposed FPD evenly distributes an input signal into three equal output signals.

Integrated Filtering Microstrip Duplex Antenna Array with High Isolation

open access: yesInternational Journal of Antennas and Propagation, 2017
This paper presents a 2 × 1 integrated filtering microstrip duplex antenna array with high isolation and same polarization. The antenna consists of two radiating patches fed by two T-shaped probes and a power distributing duplex network (PDDN).

Phase Field Failure Modeling: Brittle‐Ductile Dual‐Phase Microstructures under Compressive Loading

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
The approach by Amor and the approach by Miehe and Zhang for asymmetric damage behavior in the phase field method for fracture are compared regarding their fitness for microcrack‐based failure modeling. The comparison is performed for the case of a dual‐phase microstructure with a brittle and a ductile constituent.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.
