P. Pistor Stability Criterion for Recursive Filters

open access: yes, 2008
: A new criterion is derived that relates the stability of two-dimensional recursive filters to the properties of its cepstrum. It provides a procedure for the decomposition of unstable recursive filters having nonzero, nonimaginary frequency response ...

A new control technique for active power filters using a combined genetic algorithm/conventional analysis

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper, the computational problems associated with the optimization techniques used to evaluate the switching patterns for controlling variable-characteristics active power filters are presented and critically analyzed.

Gate level optimisation of primitive operator digital filters using a carry save decomposition [PDF]

open access: yes, 1994
This paper introduces a method for optimising digital filter realisations at the gate level. The method is based on a derivative of the primitive operator approach of Bull and Horrocks which is extended using a carry-save decomposition of the primitive ...

The role of miR‐335‐5p in the redifferentiation of BRAF p.V600E thyroid cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The BRAF p.V600E mutation promotes thyroid cancer dedifferentiation and radioiodine resistance. Using a network approach, we identified miR‐335‐5p as a key regulator of BRAF‐mutated thyroid tumors. Restoring miR‐335‐5p increased thyroid‐specific gene expression and iodine uptake in cells and organoids.

Analogue Adaptive Filters Using Wave Synthesis Technique

open access: yes, 2004
This paper describes new analogue adaptive filters based on wave synthesis technique. To facilitate simple adaptation process and stability checks, adaptive series and parallel wave adaptors with only one variable coefficient are developed including a ...

TRAIL‐PEG‐Apt‐PLGA nanosystem as an aptamer‐targeted drug delivery system potential for triple‐negative breast cancer therapy using in vivo mouse model

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Aptamers are used both therapeutically and as targeting agents in cancer treatment. We developed an aptamer‐targeted PLGA–TRAIL nanosystem that exhibited superior therapeutic efficacy in NOD/SCID breast cancer models. This nanosystem represents a novel biotechnological drug candidate for suppressing resistance development in breast cancer.

Morphological Filters Based on Motif Combination for Functional Surface Evaluation

open access: yes, 2011
Regarded as the complement of commonly used mean-line based filters, morphological filters are more function oriented. They are relevant to geometrical properties of surfaces and offers better results for functional prediction of surfaces.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Trainable COSFIRE filters for vessel delineation with application to retinal images [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Retinal imaging provides a non-invasive opportunity for the diagnosis of several medical pathologies. The automatic segmentation of the vessel tree is an important pre-processing step which facilitates subsequent automatic processes that contribute to ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.
