Feasibility of Improvement of the Filter Performance of Particle Filtering Respirators by Using Composite Media of Polyacrylonitrile Nanofiber (PAN) and Montmorillonite Clay Nanoparticles (MMT) [PDF]
Introduction: The important parameters for evaluating the performance of particle filtering respirators in international standards are the filtration efficiency and respiratory resistance of the mask filter against airflow passage.

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Filtration Property of Monofilament Core–Shell Mesh Fabric Treated Via Tourmaline Hot Coating
In this study, woven fabrics with numerous electrostatic charges and desirable charge stability were investigated. A kind of core–shell monofilaments with different melting points between outer and inner layers were applied to wove the fabrics.

We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

An Efficient Dual Sampling Algorithm with Hamming Distance Filtration [PDF]
Abstract Recently, a framework considering ribonucleic acid (RNA) sequences and their RNA secondary structures as pairs has led to new information theoretic perspectives on how the semantics encoded in RNA sequences can be inferred.
