Liquid Filtration

open access: yes, 1998
A review of liquid filtration in the chemical process and allied industries. Interpretations of the phenomenological observations of the hydrodynamics of filtration are given in the hopes of establishing more theoretical and generalized bases of design ...

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic

Effect of Solute Concentration and Filtration Rate on the Scale Production of a Physically Stable Amorphous Solid Form of Nilotinib

open access: yesPharmaceutics
Background/Objectives: Amorphous solid drugs exhibit physical instability and a propensity for crystallization, which leads to reduced solubility and bioavailability.

Finding novel vulnerabilities of hypomorphic BRCA1 alleles

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Synthetic lethality screens performed to identify novel vulnerabilities often model complete gene loss, thereby overlooking patient‐derived hypomorphic mutations. In this study, we have performed genome‐wide CRISPR screens on BRCA1 hypomorphic mutations, showing BRCA1I26A behaves like wild‐type, while BRCA1R1699Q mimics deficiency. Furthermore, we have

Combined depth and cake filtration coupled to flow simulation

open access: yes, 2022
Paper L12-02, 11 S.Almost all theoretical studies on solid-liquid separation are either dedicated to depth filtration or cake filtration regimes, just a few are considering the case, when depth filtration is followed by cake filtration. At the same time,

Geographic Variation in Morphology and Physiology of Meretrix meretrix (Linnaeus, 1758) Along the Chinese Coast

open access: yesAnimals
The clam Meretrix meretrix (Linnaeus, 1758) is a commercially significant bivalve species widely distributed along China’s coast. To investigate the differences among geoducks from different geographic populations, this study investigated the ...

MITF maintains genome stability in nonmelanocyte lineages

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
MITF is essential for melanocyte survival and acts as an oncogene in 10%–20% of melanomas. We show that MITF depletion causes genome instability in nonmelanocytic cells, leading to LATS2‐mediated P53 activation, cell cycle arrest, and apoptosis. This study highlights the role of MITF as a genome maintenance factor beyond the melanocyte lineage. Created

Transdermal Measurement of Glomerular Filtration Rate in Mice.

open access: yes, 2018
Transdermal analysis of glomerular filtration rate (GFR) is an established technique that is used to assess renal function in mouse and rat models of acute kidney injury and chronic kidney disease.
