Generating golden Syrian hamsters with conditional alleles via zygote microinjection of CRISPR/Cas9
We established the first conditional knockout (cKO) model in the golden Syrian hamster by CRISPR/Cas9‐mediated genome editing. Cas9 protein, two sgRNAs, and a donor plasmid carrying loxP‐flanked exon 2 of the ApoF gene were microinjected into one‐cell embryos. The floxed allele was efficiently generated (up to 27%) and transmitted through the germline.

Serratia‐based toxin cluster elements are associated with a type I fimbria
A soil bacterium in the Serratia genus, carrying a 153 kb conjugative amber disease‐associated plasmid (pADAP), is commercially exploited for population control of the New Zealand endemic pest beetle Costelytra giveni (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae). The main

Anatomical Progression of Neuropathology in FTLD‐TDP Type C and Linkage to Annexin A11
Objective Frontotemporal lobar degenerations (FTLD)‐TDP type C (TDP‐C) is distinguished from other FTLD‐TDP subtypes by 3 unique features: (1) invariable onset in the anterior temporal lobe (ATL), (2) phosphorylated TDP‐43 (pTDP) neurites in cortex, and (3) colocalization of all pTDP deposits with annexin A11 (ANXA11).

Sablefish, Anoplopoma fimbria, Populations on Gulf of Alaska Seamounts [PDF]
Sablefish, Anoplopoma fimbria, were tagged and released on Gulf of Alaska seamounts during 1999–2002 to determine the extent, if any, of emigration from the seamounts back to the continental slope and of movement between seamounts.

Mesenchymal stromal-cell transplants induce oligodendrocyte progenitor migration and remyelination in a chronic demyelination model. [PDF]
Demyelinating disorders such as leukodystrophies and multiple sclerosis are neurodegenerative diseases characterized by the progressive loss of myelin that may lead toward a chronic demyelination of the brain¿s white matter, impairing normal axonal ...

Activo Liquid and Halquinol inhibit Salmonella and Escherichia coli in culture media. Activo Liquid exhibits bactericidal action, whereas HA is bacteriostatic, and their combination results in positive or indifferent interactions. This combination effectively inhibits E. coli throughout digestion simulation, thus reducing the required concentrations of

Replenished microglia partially rescue schizophrenia-related stress response
BackgroundMicroglia play an important role in the maintenance of brain and behavioral homeostasis. The protective effect of microglial replenishment was reported in neurological diseases, but whether microglial therapy would benefit psychiatric disorders
