Examining the Impact of Using Hemispherical Dimples-protrusions on Heat Transfer and Pressure Drop in the Finned-tube Heat Exchanger with Different Configurations [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
In comparison to a plain fin, the addition of dimples or protrusions to the fins of a finned tube heat exchanger significantly affects the promotion of heat transfer.

Hombre, bienaventuranza y Dios en Suma Teológica l-ll, qq. 1-6.

open access: yesTópicos, 2013
This article studies the Aquinas' proposal on Summa Theologica I-II, qq-1-6, where he studies how should the final end of the man be and concludes that it should be transcendental in a certain way, but immanent in another and that God is the immanent end;

The Fish Family Poeciliidae as a Model to Study the Evolution and Diversification of Regenerative Capacity in Vertebrates

open access: yesFrontiers in Ecology and Evolution, 2021
The capacity of regenerating a new structure after losing an old one is a major challenge in the animal kingdom. Fish have emerged as an interesting model to study regeneration due to their high and diverse regenerative capacity.

Bimetallic (NiFe) and Trimetallic (NiFeCr) Nanoalloys from Metal Oxides Using a Microwave Hydrogen Plasma

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Bimetallic (NiFe) and trimetallic (NiFeCr) nanoalloys (NAs) are synthesized using corresponding oxide mixtures using microwave hydrogen plasma within a few milliseconds. The process simultaneously 1) reduces metal oxides to metals; 2) downsizes the particles from micrometers to nanometers; and 3) blends the metals to form NAs.

Four‐Point Bending Tests at High Temperatures on Commercial MgO‐C Refractory Bricks with and Without Recyclate Considering Different Carbon Contents

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Four‐point bending tests are conducted in an argon atmosphere on commercial MgO‐C brick grades with and without MgO‐C recyclate from room temperature up to 1300 °C. No detrimental effect of the MgO‐C recyclates on bending strength is found. Instead, a decisive influence of the total carbon content is observed, with lower total carbon contents ...

Nature‐Inspired Sustainable Cooling for Photovoltaics with Enhanced Temperature‐Salinity Dynamics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Addressing solar panel overheating, a nature‐inspired cooling system mimicking ocean currents is developed. A moisture‐absorbing solution layer uses sunlight, radiative cooling, and moisture processes to create temperature/salinity gradients, accelerating circulation. The prototype cools panels by up to 18.2 °C under sunlight, sustains cooling, rapidly
