An experimental investigation on the airside performance of fin-and-tube heat exchangers having corrugated louver fins - Part I; dry surface

open access: yesJournal of Thermal Science and Technology, 2020
Corrugated louver fin, which has louvers on wavy surface, may be a promising mean to augment the air-side heat transfer of fin-and-tube heat exchangers. However, only limited prior studies are available.

The Fractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck Process: Term Structure Theory and Application [PDF]

open access: yes
The paper revisits dynamic term structure models (DTSMs) and proposes a new way in dealing with the limitation of the classical affine models. In particular, this paper expands the flexibility of the DTSMs by applying a fractional Brownian motion as the ...

Debt and Taxes: Evidence from bank-financed unlisted firms [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper analyzes the capital structure decision of non-listed bank-financed firms using a rich and unique new data set of Portuguese firms. These firms are rarely studied in capital structure contexts and differ from large listed firms in terms of ...

NARFL Knockout Triggers Ferroptosis‐Driven Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
NARFL is vital for CIA and oxidative stress resistance. NARFL deletion in HPMEC cells, zebrafish, and mice is lethal and rescued by a Ferroptosis inhibitor. NARFL deficiency disrupted its interaction with CIA proteins, decreased aconitase activity, increased IRP1 activity, induced Fe overload, and led to ferroptosis and oxidative stress, resulting in ...

Investment Timing, Liquidity, and Agency Costs of Debt [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper examines the effect of debt and liquidity on corporate investment in a continuous- time framework. We show that stockholder-bondholder agency conflicts cause investment thresholds to be U-shaped in leverage and decreasing in liquidity.

Bioinspired Twisted Artificial Muscles with Enhanced Performance for Underwater Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A climbing plant‐inspired twisted artificial muscle (TAM) with a braided configuration and seal‐inspired thermal insulation enables high‐performance underwater actuation. Enhanced deformation, reduced heat dissipation, and rapid motion are validated through a bionic ray that exhibits straight and turning motions.
