Genetic Algorithms for the Controller Design of Stabilization Fins
A fuzzy logic controller designed by genetic algorithms for a fin stabilizer system of ships is investigated. In the system, the roll angle and roll velocity of ships are chosen as the input variables of the controller to obtain the desired command for driving the active fins.

Nonlinear response of SemiSWATH ship, bow-diving, and fin stabilizer effect in following seas [PDF]
--In this research, the response of a Semi-SWATH (Small Waterplane Area) ship in following sea condition with fins stabilizer was investigated. In the waves, a ship move with periodic dynamic surge motion caused by the external sea wave force and moment.

Modified pid control design for roll fin actuator of nonlinear modelling of the fishing boat
This study aims to reduce roll motion of a fishing boat which arises from disturbing hydrodynamic effects by means of fin roll stabilizer. It is assured that roll motion with nonlinear damping and restoring moment coefficients are down to the desired ...

ABSTRACT The emerging concept of Hubs for Circularity (H4Cs) presents an opportunity to create collaborative, self‐sustaining regional industrial ecosystems that drive circular economy transitions at scale. However, the operationalisation of H4Cs faces financial, organisational and data‐driven challenges.

A Critical Analysis of Microsoft's Rhetoric and Reality of Sustainability Engagement
ABSTRACT This study critically examines Microsoft's environmental, social and governance (ESG) rhetoric and operational reality, to offer insights that extend beyond conventional greenwashing or bluewashing. Drawing on over 20 years of Microsoft's sustainability reports (2003–2024), third‐party ESG evaluations and media investigations, it employs ...

ABSTRACT Environmental governance in Nigeria's oil and gas sector remains central to global climate justice debates, yet persistent accountability failures continue to undermine meaningful environmental and social outcomes. Despite extensive regulatory frameworks, accountability in resource‐dependent contexts is frequently reduced to formal reporting ...

Defining Remanufacturing: A Key Business Strategy Advancing Industrial Circularity
ABSTRACT Remanufacturing is a key strategy in the circular economy, enabling substantial product value retention. However, inconsistent definitions across standards and legislation hinder global trade, core recovery and market acceptance. This study examines how remanufacturing is defined in laws and standards, and how these definitions impact industry
