Humid‐Air Condensation Heat Transfer on Hierarchical Structured Superhydrophobic Graphite Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
Humid‐air condensation on graphite composites shows that making a surface superhydrophobic is not sufficient to enhance heat transfer. A hierarchical CuO/lauric‐acid coating yields spherical droplets but promotes Wenzel‐type pinning and adds effective thermal resistance under operation.

Understanding the Dynamics of Nanoparticle Formation and Evolution in Functional Oxides via In Situ SAXS/WAXS

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
In situ SAXS/WAXS enables real‐time tracking of nanoparticle formation and evolution in exsolved and infiltrated Ni‐based perovskites under reducing conditions. The combined technique captures nucleation, growth, and coarsening dynamics with high temporal resolution, providing statistically robust insights into structural and morphological ...

The Rural Economy and Family Firms: A Bibliometric Analysis Through Scientific Maps

open access: yesAgriculture
Since the beginning of the research on the family business and rural economy, there has been a problem with the delimitation of the concepts. Given this problem, this study’s main objective was to identify and visualize the intellectual structure of ...

Light‐Programmable Interfaces: From Molecular Photoswitching to Adaptive Membrane Separations

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This review advances an interface‐centered framework for light‐responsive membranes, linking molecular photoswitches (azobenzene (AZO), spiropyran (SP), diarylethene (DAE), donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASA), photoacid) to integration strategies in polymeric, porous, self‐assembled, and mixed‐matrix systems.

Lessons for China from financial liberalization in Scandinavia [PDF]

open access: yes
This study brings out policy lessons for China today, a financially repressed country, from the financial liberalization process in Denmakr, Finland, Norway and Sweden in the 1980s and early 1990s. This report identifies a set of policy lessons for China

3D Printed Multimaterial Microfluidic Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
We introduce a biocompatible, high resolution photopolymer resin that closely mimics the Young's Modulus (elasticity) and reversible stretchability (no hysteresis) of poly(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS), enabling the fabrication of microfluidic transistors (i.e., microvalves capable of proportional amplification) by multimaterial stereolithography (mSLA ...

Existence of financial equilibria with restricted participation [PDF]

open access: yes
We consider a two-date model of a financial exchange economy with finitely many agents having nonordered preferences and portfolio constraints. There is a market for physical commodities at any state today or tomorrow and financial transfers across time ...

The High Cross-Country Correlations of Prices and Interest Rates [PDF]

open access: yes
We introduce financial frictions in a two sector model of international trade with heterogeneous agents. The level of specialization in the economy (economic development) depends on the quality of financial institutions.

Lattice Structures for Bone Replacement: The Intersection of Bone Biomechanics, Lattice Design, and Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
This review outlines how understanding bone's biology, hierarchical architecture, and mechanical anisotropy informs the design of lattice structures that replicate bone morphology and mechanical behavior. Additive manufacturing enables the fabrication of orthopedic implants that incorporate such structures using a range of engineering materials ...
