In vitro models of cancer‐associated fibroblast heterogeneity uncover subtype‐specific effects of CRISPR perturbations

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Pengaruh Gradasi Agregat terhadap Karakteristik Beton Segar [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
The aim of this research is to know the effect of gradation natural aggregate to the characteristic of fresh concrete. Gradation of aggregate are found from composition of size granular fine and coarse aggregate.

Exploiting metabolic adaptations to overcome dabrafenib treatment resistance in melanoma cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We show that dabrafenib‐resistant melanoma cells undergo mitochondrial remodeling, leading to elevated respiration and ROS production balanced by stronger antioxidant defenses. This altered redox state promotes survival despite mitochondrial damage but renders resistant cells highly vulnerable to ROS‐inducing compounds such as PEITC, highlighting redox

Alternative Fine Aggregates to Natural River Sand for Manufactured Concrete Ensuring Circular Economy

open access: yesConstruction Materials
To address SDG12 (ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns), and to provide technical evidence for alternative concrete constituents to traditional natural river sand, stone fine aggregate (SFA), brick fine aggregate (BFA), ladle-refined ...

Hydro-abrasive resistance and mechanical properties of rubberized concrete

open access: yesGrađevinar, 2014
Results obtained by testing hydro-abrasive resistance and mechanical properties of concrete with rubber granules are presented in the paper. Fine river aggregate is replaced with 10, 20, and 30 percent of recycled granulated rubber (with respect to the ...

A Study Focus on Concrete Replacing LD Slag as Fine Aggregate [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
Concrete is a composite material composed of fine and coarse granular aggregate (which acts as a filler material) embedded in a hard matrix of cement (which acts as binder) that fills the space among the aggregate particles and glue them together.

Therapeutic strategies for MMAE‐resistant bladder cancer through DPP4 inhibition

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We established monomethyl auristatin E (MMAE)‐resistant bladder cancer (BC) cell lines by exposure to progressively increasing concentrations of MMAE in vitro. RNA sequencing showed DPP4 expression was increased in MMAE‐resistant BC cells. Both si‐DPP4 and the DPP4 inhibitor sitagliptin suppressed the viability of MMAE‐resistant BC cells.

Potential Applicability of Air-Cooled Ladle Furnace Slag Fine Aggregate in Concrete Production

open access: yesRecycling
Electric arc furnace oxidizing slag (EAFOS) represents 80% of the electric arc furnace slag generated. Recently, EAFOS has been utilized as high value-added functional aggregate in a growing number of cases for the construction of air-cooling technology ...

Crack Initiation Assessment of Wearing Course Asphalt Mixtures Using Aggregate Gradation Characteristic [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
At normal service temperatures, wearing course asphalt mixtures may have ductile cracking. Aggregate gradation characteristic is important to avoid the premature cracking. The present study discusses a relationship between the characteristic of aggregate

Crucial parameters for precise copy number variation detection in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded solid cancer samples

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that copy number variations (CNVs) can be reliably detected in formalin‐fixed paraffin‐embedded (FFPE) solid cancer samples using ultra‐low‐pass whole‐genome sequencing, provided that key (pre)‐analytical parameters are optimized.
