Fine-grained population estimation
Proceedings of the 23rd SIGSPATIAL International Conference on Advances in Geographic Information Systems, 2015We show how to estimate population numbers for arbitrary user-defined regions, down to the level of individual buildings. This is important for various applications like evacuation planning, facility placement, or traffic estimation. However, census data with precise population numbers is typically only available at the level of cities, villages, or ...

Fine-grained concurrent completion
1996We present a concurrent Completion procedure based on the use of a SOUR graph as data structure. The procedure has the following characteristics. It is asynchronous, there is no need for a global memory or global control, equations are stored in a SOUR graph with maximal structure sharing, and each vertex is a process, representing a term.

2013 IEEE Third International Conference on Consumer Electronics ¿ Berlin (ICCE-Berlin), 2013
A novel fine grain creation method for Ultra-HighDefinition TeleVision (UHDTV) has been proposed. To make fine grain components, multi-layer super resolution reconstruction and the frequency modulation method are developed. Base and Texture layer of images are fused separately to prevent the loss of texture components in interpolation.

Fine-Grained Secure Computation
2018This paper initiates a study of Fine Grained Secure Computation: i.e. the construction of secure computation primitives against “moderately complex” adversaries. We present definitions and constructions for compact Fully Homomorphic Encryption and Verifiable Computation secure against (non-uniform) \(\mathsf {NC}^1\) adversaries.

Fine-Grained Colour Discrimination without Fine-Grained Colour
Australasian Journal of Philosophy, 2015Rene Jagnow [2012] argues that David Rosenthal's theory of consciousness cannot account for certain experiences that involve colours so fine-grained that we do not and cannot have concepts of them. Jagnow claims that an appeal to comparative concepts such as being slightly darker than cannot help Rosenthal, since, in order to apply such concepts, we ...
