Gas compression and dissolution in closed end tubes by applying pressure (Liquid infiltration characteristics into fine structure by pressure)

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu, 2016
Liquid infiltration into small scale structure is important process in the various manufacturing process. However, there are lack of experimental study, especially, the effect of pressure, even in the real process utilized the external pressure like ...

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Advances in Computed Tomography for Whole-body Fine Bone Structure Imaging

open access: yesCT Lilun yu yingyong yanjiu
Advances in computed tomography (CT) have accelerated scanning speeds and improved the spatial resolution of images. These improvements allow clearer visualization of whole-body fine bone structures, gradually enhancing the understanding of diseases and ...

Critical Assessment of Theoretical Calculations of Atomic Structure and Transition Probabilities: An Experimenter’s View

open access: yesAtoms, 2014
The interpretation of atomic observations by theory and the testing of computational predictions by experiment are interactive processes. It is necessary to gain experience with “the other side” before claims of achievement can be validated and judged ...

Influence of tempering modes on fine structure parameters, stress and hardness of 25Cr2Mo1V steel [PDF]

open access: yesМеталознавство та обробка металів, 2019
The results of studies on the effect of tempering regimes on the parameters of fine structure, stress and hardness of 25Cr2Mo1V steel are presented. It is shown that the secondary hardness of steel 25Cr2Mo1V, tempered at a temperature of 550 °C, maximum ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.
