Accurate 3D Hand Pose Estimation for Whole-Body 3D Human Mesh Estimation [PDF]
Whole-body 3D human mesh estimation aims to reconstruct the 3D human body, hands, and face simultaneously. Although several methods have been proposed, accurate prediction of 3D hands, which consist of 3D wrist and fingers, still remains challenging due to two reasons.

This study examines the mechanical properties of triply periodic minimal surfaces (TPMS)‐based lattices, analyzing 36 architectures in elastic and plastic regimes. It evaluates the applicability of beam‐based scaling laws to TPMS lattices. Rigidity arises from the alignment of members with the load direction and solid regions preventing rotation.

An unexpected diagnosis of methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus septic arthritis.
Hand infections can result in serious tissue damage and gross functional impairment. This is particularly true in the case of septic arthritis, the most destructive of all joint disease.

Effect of bending pattern on finger joint bending strength [PDF]
Limited information is available on end gluing hardwoods in contrast to softwoods, which have been extensively investigated. The objective of this study was to examine the influence of bending patern on bending strength of finger jointed beech wood ...

Real-Time Grasp Planning for Multi-Fingered Hands by Finger Splitting [PDF]
Grasp planning for multi-fingered hands is computationally expensive due to the joint-contact coupling, surface nonlinearities and high dimensionality, thus is generally not affordable for real-time implementations. Traditional planning methods by optimization, sampling or learning work well in planning for parallel grippers but remain challenging for ...

Multiple plasma surface treatments improved the Mode I fracture energy of metal‐carbon‐fiber‐reinforced thermoplastic polymer (CFRTP) joints by ≈240% compared to single treatments and nearly 2000% over untreated joints. This significant enhancement, achieved without modifying CFRTP surface roughness, is attributed to improved chemical bonding at the ...

Proximal Interphalangeal Joint Dislocations and Treatment: An Evolutionary Process
Background Proximal interphalangeal joint (PIPJ) dislocations represent a significant proportion of hand clinic visits and typically require frequent follow-ups for clinical assessment, orthotic adjustments, and physiotherapy.
