ResNet and MaxEnt modeling for quality assessment of Wolfiporia cocos based on FT-NIR fingerprints

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2022
As a fungus with both medicinal and edible value, Wolfiporia cocos (F. A. Wolf) Ryvarden & Gilb. has drawn more public attention. Chemical components’ content fluctuates in wild and cultivated W.

Calpain small subunit homodimerization is robust and calcium‐independent

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Calpains dimerize via penta‐EF‐hand (PEF) domains. Using single‐molecule force spectroscopy, we measured the strength and kinetics of PEF–PEF homodimer binding. The interaction is robust, shows a transient conformational step before dissociation, and remains largely insensitive to Ca2+.

Lip Prints: A Statistical Study of Morphological Patterns to Determine Sex Differences among Brahmins and Yadavs of the Bundelkhand Region of Uttar Pradesh, India

open access: yesArab Journal of Forensic Sciences & Forensic Medicine, 2019
Like fingerprints, lip prints are considered distinctive to an individual. A lip print found at the crime scene can help reveal the identity of the persons involved.

Combined unsupervised and semi-automated supervised analysis of flow cytometry data reveals cellular fingerprint associated with newly diagnosed pediatric type 1 diabetes

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2022
An unbiased and replicable profiling of type 1 diabetes (T1D)-specific circulating immunome at disease onset has yet to be identified due to experimental and patient selection limitations.

Fingerprint Recognition with Identical Twin Fingerprints

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2012
Fingerprint recognition with identical twins is a challenging task due to the closest genetics-based relationship existing in the identical twins. Several pioneers have analyzed the similarity between twins' fingerprints. In this work we continue to investigate the topic of the similarity of identical twin fingerprints.

Raman‐based label‐free microscopic analysis of the pancreas in living zebrafish larvae

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Forward stimulated Raman scattering (F‐SRS) and epi coherent anti‐Stokes Raman scattering (E‐CARS) allow label‐free discrimination of distinct subcellular structures in the pancreas of living zebrafish larvae. Given the straightforward applicability, we anticipate broad implementation of Raman microscopy in other organs and across various biomedical ...

A Systematic Comparison of Alpha‐Synuclein Seed Amplification Assays for Increasing Reproducibility

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Seed amplification assays (SAAs) enable ultrasensitive detection of misfolded α‐synuclein across biofluids and tissues. Yet, heterogeneity in protocols limits cross‐study comparability and clinical translation. Here, we review α‐synuclein SAA methods and their performance across various biological matrices.

Investigating the Chemical Profile of Underexplored Parts of Dipteryx alata (Baru) Using the PS–MS Technique

open access: yesPlants
The baru (Dipteryx alata Vog.), a fruit native to the Cerrado biome, is well-known for its almonds, which are extensively exploited and exported. Unfortunately, the remaining parts of this fruit are often discarded.
