Finite rank operators with large trace

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1985
We give some estimates for how well the normalized trace functional exposes the identity map on a finite-dimensional space.

On the approximation of symmetric operators by operators of finite rank

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 1965
The following Theorem 1 and Theorem 2 are established. The proof utilizes the elementary properties of symmetric operators. It is shown that the symmetry condition is necessary for these theorems to hold.

Finite Rank Perturbations of Toeplitz Operators

Integral Equations and Operator Theory, 2007
We study finite rank perturbations of the Brown-Halmos type results involving products of Toeplitz operators acting on the Bergman space.

The Lower Socle and Finite Rank Elementary Operators

Communications in Algebra, 2003
Abstract We define the lower socle of a semiprime algebra 𝒜 as the sum of all minimal left ideals 𝒜e where e is a minimal idempotent such that the division algebra e𝒜e is finite dimensional. We study the connection between the condition that the elements a k , b k , 1 ≤ k ≤ n, lie in the lower socle of 𝒜 and the ...

Algebraic Properties. Operators of Finite Rank

1985
Exercise 1. For finite-dimensional vector spaces the notion of Fredholm operator is empty, since then every linear map is a Fredholm operator. Moreover, the index no longer depends on the explicit form of the map, but only on the dimensions of the vector spaces between which it operates.

On finite rank operators in CSL algebras III

Applied Mathematics-A Journal of Chinese Universities, 2002
In terms of the exactly nonzero partition, the reducible projection-system and correlation matrices, two characterizations for a rank three operator in a CSL algebra can be completely decomposed are given.

Extension of Finite Rank Operators and Operator Ideals with the Property (I) [PDF]

open access: possibleMathematische Nachrichten, 2002
We present criteria and related techniques which help to decide whether the adjoint operator ideal (𝔄*, A*) of an injective and totally accessible maximal Banach ideal (𝔄, A) is itself also totally accessible. This approach (which involves the transfer of the principle of local reflexivity to operator ideals) is based on the extension of finite rank ...

Finite Rank Toeplitz Operators in the Bergman Space [PDF]

open access: possible, 2009
We discuss resent developments in the problem of description of finite rank Toeplitz operators in different Bergman spaces and give some applications.

On finite rank operators in CSL algebras II

Acta Mathematica Sinica, 1997
For finite rank operators in a commutative subspace lattice algebra algℒ we introduce the concept of correlation matrices, basing on which we prove that a finite rank operator in algℒ can be written as a finite sum of rank-one operators in algℒ, if it has only finitely many different correlation matrices.
