Finite Size Scaling in Neural Networks [PDF]
We demonstrate that the fraction of pattern sets that can be stored in single- and hidden-layer perceptrons exhibits finite size scaling. This feature allows to estimate the critical storage capacity _c from simulations of relatively small systems. We illustrate this approach by determining _c, together with the finite size scaling exponent , for

We progress finite-size scaling in systems with free boundary conditions above their upper critical dimension, where in the thermodynamic limit critical scaling is described by mean-field theory.

Shape Effects of Finite-Size Scaling Functions for Anisotropic Three-Dimensional Ising Models
The finite-size scaling functions for anisotropic three-dimensional Ising models of size $L_1 \times L_1 \times aL_1$ ($a$: anisotropy parameter) are studied by Monte Carlo simulations.

Finite-size scaling in disordered systems [PDF]
The critical behavior of a quenched random hypercubic sample of linear size L is considered, within the "random-T(c)" field-theoretical model, by using the renormalization group method. A finite-size scaling behavior is established and analyzed near the upper critical dimension d=4-epsilon and some universal results are obtained.

Finite-size scaling for four-dimensional Higgs-Yukawa model near the Gaussian fixed point
We analyse finite-size scaling behaviour of a four-dimensional Higgs-Yukawa model near the Gaussian infrared fixed point. Through improving the mean-field scaling laws by solving one-loop renormalisation group equations, the triviality property of this ...

Collective excitations in jammed states: ultrafast defect propagation and finite-size scaling
In crowded systems, particle currents can be mediated by propagating collective excitations which are generated as rare events, are localized, and have a finite lifetime.

Finite size scale invariance [PDF]
We develop a new approach to scale symmetry, which takes into account the possible finite cut-offs of the fields or the parameters. This new symmetry, called finite size scale symmetry: i) includes the traditional self-similarity as a limiting case, when the cut-offs are set to infinity (infinite size-system); ii) is consistent with the traditional ...

Domain Growth and Finite-Size-Scaling in the Kinetic Ising Model
This paper describes the application of finite-size scaling concepts to domain growth in systems with a non-conserved order parameter. A finite-size scaling ansatz for the time-dependent order parameter distribution function is proposed, and tested with ...

Finite-size scaling of heavy-light mesons [PDF]
We study the finite-size scaling of heavy-light mesons in the static limit. The most relevant effects are due to the pseudo-Goldstone boson cloud. In the HMChPT framework we compute two-point functions of left current densitities as well as pseudoscalar ...
