Local System of Simple Locally Finite Associative Algebras

open access: yesJournal of Algebra Combinatorics Discrete Structures and Applications
. In this paper, we study local systems of locally finite associative algebras over fields of characteristic p\ge0. We describe the perfect local systems and study the relation between them and their corresponding locally finite associative algebras.

A semi-finite algebra associated to a planar algebra

open access: yes, 2009
We canonically associate to any planar algebra two type II_{\infty} factors M_{+} and M_{-}. The subfactors constructed previously by the authors in a previous paper are isomorphic to compressions of M_{+} and M_{-} to finite projections. We show that each \mathfrak{M}_{\pm} is isomorphic to an amalgamated free product of type I von Neumann algebras ...

Characters of Groups Associated with Finite Algebras

open access: yesJournal of Algebra, 1995
This paper has many results, all centering around so-called \(F\)-algebra groups. Namely, let \(F\) be a field of characteristic \(p>0\). Let \(J\) be the Jacobson radical belonging to the finite dimensional \(F\)-algebra \(R\). Then \(1+J:=\{1+a\mid a\in J\}\) is a \(p\)-subgroup of the group of units of \(R\), to be called an \(F\)-algebra group.

Structure of Divergence-Free Lie Algebras

open access: yes, 2000
One of the four well-known series of simple Lie algebras of Cartan type is the series of Lie algebras of Special type, which are divergence-free Lie algebras associated with polynomial algebras and the operators of taking partial derivatives, connected ...

Actions of Taft's algebras on finite dimensional algebras

open access: yes, 2020
Let F be a field containing a primitive m-th root of the unit. We characterize the actions of a Taft's algebra H m of a certain order m on finite dimensional arbitrary algebras. We describe the action in terms of gradings and actions by skew-derivations.

Anick resolution and Koszul algebras of finite global dimension

open access: yes, 2016
We show how to study a certain associative algebra recently discovered by Iyudu and Shkarin using the Anick resolution. This algebra is a counterexample to the conjecture of Positselski on Koszul algebras of finite global dimension.Comment: 4 ...

Association algebras for finite projective planes

open access: yesJournal of Combinatorial Theory, Series A, 1983
The plane 71 is a finite plane when the set of points is finite and it is an elementary consequence of the above axioms that finite planes have n* + n + 1 lines and the same number of points. Such a plane is said to be of order n [4]. In this paper, we study projective planes of order n and show how to associate a commutative algebra of matrices with ...

Tarski-type problems for free associative algebras [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
In this paper we study fundamental model-theoretic questions for free associative algebras, namely, first-order classification, decidability of the first-order theory, and definability of the set of free bases.
