Resource allocation and energy trading in the short blocklength regime for radio access networks

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 17, Issue 18, Page 2119-2131, November 2023., 2023
For content delivery services in the future network, a Stackelberg game model between service providers, network operators, and users under the short transmission block scheme is proposed to improve network utility and service quality. Abstract With the large‐scale deployment of communication and computation units, the conventional radio access network

Reliability analysis for NOMA‐based UAV assisted short packet communication

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 17, Issue 16, Page 1917-1927, October 2023., 2023
This paper introduces the short packet transmission in non‐orthogonal multiple access‐based unmanned aerial vehicle assisted relay communication system. To improve the reliability of the system, an effective packet error rate minimization problem within short packet transmission is proposed by jointly optimizing the packet length, unmanned aerial ...

Fixed-Length Lossy Compression in the Finite Blocklength Regime [PDF]

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Information Theory, 2012
This paper studies the minimum achievable source coding rate as a function of blocklength $n$ and probability $ε$ that the distortion exceeds a given level $d$. Tight general achievability and converse bounds are derived that hold at arbitrary fixed blocklength. For stationary memoryless sources with separable distortion, the minimum rate achievable is

Intelligent reflecting surface‐assisted beamforming‐NOMA networks for short‐packet communications: Performance analysis and deep learning approach

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 17, Issue 16, Page 1940-1954, October 2023., 2023
This paper investigates intelligent reconfigurable surface‐assisted non‐orthogonal multiple access networks for short packet communications where the source with multiple antennas utilizes beamforming technology to serve two end users including a near user and a far user.

Unmanned aerial vehicle‐aided edge networks with ultra‐reliable low‐latency communications: A digital twin approach

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, Volume 16, Issue 8, Page 897-908, October 2022., 2022
Abstract A digital twin (DT) framework for Internet‐of‐thing (IoT) networks is proposed where unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) acting as flying mobile edge computing (MEC) servers support the task offloading on the fly. The considered DT model is very well suitable for industrial automation with the strict constraints of mission‐critical services' ultra‐

Joint power and blocklength optimization for RIS‐aided multiple‐access downlink ultra‐reliable low‐latency communication

open access: yesIET Signal Processing, Volume 16, Issue 8, Page 925-934, October 2022., 2022
Abstract Ultra‐reliable low‐latency communication (URLLC) has gained significant interest since it deals with short packet transmission adopted to reduce latency; however, this implies that the conventional Shannon capacity formula is not applicable, and the achievable data rate becomes a complex function of the decoding error probability and ...

On the Coexistence of eMBB and URLLC in Multi-Cell Massive MIMO

open access: yesIEEE Open Journal of the Communications Society, 2023
The non-orthogonal coexistence between the enhanced mobile broadband (eMBB) and the ultra-reliable low-latency communication (URLLC) in the downlink of a multi-cell massive MIMO system is rigorously analyzed in this work. We provide a unified information-

Uplink Multiple Access for Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface‐Aided Wireless Systems

open access: yesWireless Communications and Mobile Computing, Volume 2022, Issue 1, 2022., 2022
The integration of reconfigurable intelligent surface‐ (RIS‐) aided wireless communication and multiple access is an attractive and promising scheme for next‐generation wireless networks. In this research work, separate uplink RIS‐aided nonorthogonal multiple access (NOMA) and uplink relay‐assisted NOMA schemes are studied, where the RIS and relay ...

Beamforming design for MIMO full‐duplex SWIPT IoT system under imperfect CSI

open access: yesIET Communications, Volume 15, Issue 14, Page 1849-1858, August 2021., 2021
Abstract This paper proposes a multiple‐input multiple‐output full‐duplex relay Internet of Things system under imperfect channel state information, where the relay uses time switching relaying protocol to harvest energy. Particularly, due to the uncertainty channel circumstance, the self‐interference in full‐duplex relay cannot be eliminated ...

Unit root testing with slowly varying trends

open access: yesJournal of Time Series Analysis, Volume 42, Issue 1, Page 85-106, January 2021., 2021
A unit root test is proposed for time series with a general nonlinear deterministic trend component. It is shown that asymptotically the pooled OLS estimator of overlapping blocks filters out any trend component that satisfies some Lipschitz condition.
