Matrix-Product Codes over Commutative Rings and Constructions Arising from σ,δ-Codes

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, 2021
A well-known lower bound (over finite fields and some special finite commutative rings) on the Hamming distance of a matrix-product code (MPC) is shown to remain valid over any commutative ring R.

Quadratic Gauss Sums over Finite Commutative Rings

open access: yesJournal of Number Theory, 2002
Let \(R\) be finite commutative ring of odd characteristic. Let \(\lambda\) be an additive complex linear character of \(R\) and let \(G(\lambda)=\sum_{r\;\text{ in} R} \lambda(r^2)\) be the quadratic Gauss sum. The author gives an explicit determination of \(G(\lambda)\) by a series of reductions. Since \(G\) is multiplicative when \(R\) is written as

On the Noisy Road to Open Quantum Dynamics: The Place of Stochastic Hamiltonians

open access: yesAnnalen der Physik, Volume 538, Issue 1, January 2026.
Stochastic Hamiltonian formulations of open quantum dynamics are revisited, highlighting their roots in stochastic calculus. The connections among stochastic Hamiltonians, stochastic Schrödinger equations, and master‐equation approaches are made explicit.

A first Catalgorithm? [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electronics and Telecommunications, 2018
We propose building a new PKC in a ring structure, the classification of rings being an open problem. The difficulty of the scheme is based on retrieving the eigenvalues of endomorphism on a finite type module over a non-commutative ring. It is resistant

Real‐Time Implementation of Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control for BLDC Motors With Dynamic Speed References on ESP32

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper investigates the application of Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS‐MPC) for Brushless DC (BLDC) motor speed regulation under dynamic references, including sinusoidal, square, triangular, and sawtooth signals. A novel cost function is introduced to evaluate switching frequency effects, and the influence of different weighting ...

Subrings of Finite Commutative Rings

open access: yes, 2017
We establish basic results on subrings of finite commutative rings and closely related rings. Among other applications we calculate the number of maximal subrings of a finite commutative local ring.

Extended total graph associated to finite commutative rings

open access: yesUkrains’kyi Matematychnyi Zhurnal
UDC 512.5 For a commutative ring R   with nonzero identity 1 ≠ 0 , let Z ( R ) denote the set of zero divisors. The total graph of R denoted by T Γ ( R ) is a simple graph in which all elements of R are vertices and any two distinct vertices x and y are adjacent if and only if x ...

Hybrid Deference, Hybrid Chance

open access: yesPhilosophy and Phenomenological Research, Volume 112, Issue 1, Page 214-233, January 2026.
ABSTRACT If you learn about one kind of chance and nothing else, then you should defer to those chances. But what if you learn about more than one kind of chance? In such “hybrid” cases, familiar chance‐credence principles, like the Principal Principle, go silent when they should intuitively speak.

Scissors congruence K$K$‐theory for equivariant manifolds

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We introduce a scissors congruence K$K$‐theory spectrum that lifts the equivariant scissors congruence groups for compact G$G$‐manifolds with boundary, and we show that on π0$\pi _0$, this is the source of a spectrum‐level lift of the Burnside ring‐valued equivariant Euler characteristic of a compact G$G$‐manifold.

When do pseudo‐Gorenstein rings become Gorenstein?

open access: yesBulletin of the London Mathematical Society, Volume 58, Issue 1, January 2026.
Abstract We discuss the relationship between the trace ideal of the canonical module and pseudo‐Gorensteinness. In particular, under certain mild assumptions, we show that every positively graded domain that is both pseudo‐Gorenstein and nearly Gorenstein is Gorenstein. As an application, we clarify the relationships among nearly Gorensteinness, almost
