On nonstandard finite difference schemes in biosciences [PDF]
We design, analyze and implement nonstandard finite difference (NSFD) schemes for some differential models in biosciences. The NSFD schemes are reliable in three directions. They are topologically dynamically consistent for onedimensional models. They can replicate the global asymptotic stability of the disease-free equilibrium of the MSEIR model in ...

Curvature‐tuned auxetic lattices are designed, fabricated, and mechanically characterized to reveal how geometric curvature governs stretchability, stress redistribution, and Poisson's ratio evolution. Photoelastic experiments visualize stress pathways, while hyperelastic simulations quantify deformation mechanics.

In this experimental study, the mechanical properties of additively manufactured Ti‐6Al‐4V lattice structures of different geometries are characterized using compression, four point bending and fatigue testing. While TPMS designs show superior fatigue resistance, SplitP and Honeycomb lattice structures combine high stiffness and strength. The resulting

We present a novel numerical method and algorithm for the solution of the 3D axially symmetric time-dependent Schr\"odinger equation in cylindrical coordinates, involving singular Coulomb potential terms besides a smooth time-dependent potential.

Thermoelectric Modules Incorporating MgAgSb and Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 Synthesized Using a Melting Method
A scalable synthesis method for a thermoelectric material of MgAgSb is established. A thermoelectric power module of MgAgSb/Mg3(Sb,Bi)2 is fabricated, showing the conversion efficiency of 7.4% at ΔT = 315 K. The performance is comparable to conventional Bi2Te3 modules when they are operated with an air‐cooled heat exchanger.

A new finite difference scheme based on the method of characteristics is presented for convection-diffusion problems. The scheme is of single-step and second order in time, and the matrix of the derived system of linear equations is symmetric.

Invariant compact finite difference schemes
In this paper, we propose a method, that is based on equivariant moving frames, for development of high order accurate invariant compact finite difference schemes that preserve Lie symmetries of underlying partial differential equations. In this method, variable transformations that are obtained from the extended symmetry groups of PDEs are used to ...

3D‐Printed Serial Snap‐Through Architectures for Programmable Mechanical Response
A serial snap‐through architecture is realized using compact 3D‐printed von Mises truss units arranged in a staged cascade. Their geometry and boundary conditions program multistage mechanical responses with plateaux and re‐hardening regimes. An inverted‐compliance model predicts these behaviors and enables analytical design of programmable force ...
