From Shear to Sound: Mechanics–Acoustics Mapping of TPMS Lattices
Triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) lattices are mapped across mechanical and acoustic performance, revealing that descriptors validated in compression fail under shear. First‐time comparison with trusses included. A transition from porous to resonance‐driven absorption emerges at 25% density.

An estimation of mechanical propertes of articular cartilage for biphasic finite element analyses
The purpose of this study is to estimate material properties of articular cartilage by curve fitting method using finite element (FE) analysis. While various material tests have been conducted to predict the behavior of articular cartilage, one of the ...

Finite element analysis applied to redesign of submerged entry nozzles for steelmaking
The production of steel by continuous casting is facilitated by the use of refractory hollow-ware components. A critical component in this process is the submerged entry nozzle (SEN).

Influence of Geometric Design on Mechanical Performance of Auxetic Metastructure
Strategic geometric reinforcement transforms auxetic performance. This study evaluates 3D‐printed arrowhead metastructures, revealing that a modified design with local ring reinforcement suppresses premature failure to achieve superior energy absorption and structural efficiency.

Numerical evaluation of the effects of fire on steel connections; Part 1: Simulation techniques
Steel connections are used to connect between beam and column in steel moment frame structures. As of present time, there is a huge lack of understanding of the performance of steel connections and their response to fire especially the uncontrolled fires.

A rotation-free beam element for beam and cable analyses [PDF]
The rotation-free or RF element method represents a non-conventional finite element method in which the rotations are not used as dofs and the element interpolation domains are overlapping.

Experimental Characterization of Mycelium‐Based Composites Under Multiple Loading Conditions
This study examines the mechanical response of mycelium‐based composites under compression, shear, and tension using mechanical testing and imaging methods. The comparison between unpressed and hot‐pressed specimens shows that hot pressing is associated with higher compression and shear stiffnesses.
