The glomerular filtration barrier (GFB) is the first step of blood filtration by the kidneys. The concerning increase of kidney diseases makes the development of new models essential. In this context, microphysiological glomerular filtration barriers focus on closely reproducing the physiological architecture of the in vivo GFB: podocytes, glomerular ...

Is BCH Code Useful to DNA Classification as an Alignment-Free Method?
Similarities between biological and digital communication systems have been investigated since biology also uses a discrete alphabet to represent and transmit information. The genetic information of an organism is encoded in DNA molecules by units called

Hydrogel‐Based Capacitive Sensor Model for Ammonium Monitoring in Aquaculture
Traditional techniques for monitoring aquaculture water quality, particularly ammonium levels, harm fish. This work presents a novel capacitive sensor with an ionic hydrogel transducer to monitor ammonium concentration in real time based on the ammonium‐induced hydrogel dissociation and osmotic pressure. Monitoring aquaculture water quality, especially

For a finite field GF(pL) with prime p and L>1, one of the standard representations is L×L matrices over GF(p) so that the arithmetic of GF(pL) can be realized by the arithmetic among these matrices over GF(p). Based on the matrix representation of GF(pL)

Further results on permutation polynomials and complete permutation polynomials over finite fields
In this paper, by employing the AGW criterion and determining the number of solutions to some equations over finite fields, we further investigate nine classes of permutation polynomials over $ \mathbb{F}_{p^n} $ with the form $ (x^{p^m}-x+\delta)^{s_1}+

In this study, exciting new bi‐/multi‐linear elastic behavior of soft elastic composites that accompany the activation of wrinkling in the embedded interfacial layers is analyzed. The new features and performance of these composite materials, including dramatic enhancements in energy storage, can be tailored by the concentration of interfacial layers ...

On the sum of matrices of special linear group over finite field
Let $ \mathbb{F}_q $ be a finite field of $ q $ elements. For $ n\in\mathbb{N}^* $ with $ n\ge2, $ let $ M_{n}: = Mat_n(\mathbb{F}_q) $ be the ring of matrices of order $ n $ over $ \mathbb{F}_q, $ $ G_{n, 1}: = Sl_n(\mathbb{F}_q) $ be the special ...

Automorphisms of finite fields
AbstractLet F be a finite field, and φ: F∗ → E a surjective group homomorphism from the multiplicative group F∗ of F to a non-trivial abelian group E. A theorem of McConnel (Acta Arith.8 (1963), 127–151) describes the permutations σ of F with the property that φ(σx − σy) = φ(x − y) for all x,y ∈ F, x ≠ y. We give a short proof of this theorem, based on

Finitely presented exponential fields [PDF]
The algebra of exponential fields and their extensions is developed. The focus is on ELA-fields, which are algebraically closed with a surjective exponential map. In this context, finitely presented extensions are defined, it is shown that finitely generated strong extensions are finitely presented, and these extensions are classified.
