Fracture mechanics parameters estimation of CCT specimens made of X 5 CrNi 18 10 steel [PDF]
This study investigates fracture behaviour of specimens made of high ductile stainless steel. Investigated material was X 5 CrNi 18 10 steel and the specimens used in this investigation were prepared as centre crack tension (CCT) specimens.

Finite Fracture Mechanics model for mixed mode fracture in adhesive joints
AbstractUp to now the failure load assessment of bonded joints is still not fully understood. This work provides a new approach for assessing the crack initiation load of bonded joints. A failure model for single lap joints is proposed that is based on Finite Fracture Mechanics.

Modeling thermo-mechanical fatigue for rolling die under continuous casting process
In the continuous casting process, the rolling die is exposed to non-steady stress conditions that can initiate thermo-mechanical fatigue damage. Understanding the rolling die failure mechanism is essential in metal-forming industries.

Leaftronics: Bio‐Fractal Scaffolds From Leaf Venation for Low‐Waste Electronics
“Leaftronics” transforms naturally evolved leaf venation into quasi‐fractal scaffolds for sustainable electronics. Polymer‐infiltrated leaf skeletons can be used to fabricate ultra‐smooth, reflow‐ and thin‐film‐compatible decomposable substrates, while making the same lignocellulose networks conducting results in flexible transparent electrodes.

Determining the effect of strain rate on the fracture of sheet steel [PDF]
A key challenge for the automotive industry is to reduce vehicle mass without compromising on crash safety. To achieve this, it is necessary to model local failure in a material rather than design to the overly conservative criteria of total elongation

core
A new numerical procedure for predicting interface failures between solids is developed. The procedure is based on the Linear Elastic-(Perfectly) Brittle Interface Model (LEBIM) combined with the Coupled Criterion of the Finite Fracture Mechanics (CCFFM).
