The Equivalence Problem for Finite Rings
The equivalence problem (e.p.) for a ring is the problem of determining when two ring terms define the same function on the ring. Whereas \textit{H. B. Hunt} and \textit{R. E. Stearns} have earlier proved [ibid. 10, 411-436 (1990; Zbl 0724.68050)] for a finite ring \(R\) that: \(R\) is nilpotent implies the e.p.

Incomplete Airy beams: finite-energy from a sharp spectral cutoff [PDF]
We present a mathematical analysis of the finite-energy Airy beam with a sharply truncated spectrum, which can be generated by a uniformly illuminated, finite-sized spatial light modulator, or windowed cubic phase mask.

Rings with a finite set of nonnilpotents
Let R be a ring and let N denote the set of nilpotent elements of R. Let n be a nonnegative integer. The ring R is called a θn-ring if the number of elements in R which are not in N is at most n. The following theorem is proved: If R is a θn-ring, then R

On rings with finite number of orbits [PDF]
Let R be an associative unital ring with the unit group U(R). Let S denote one of the following sets: the set of elements of R, of left ideals of R, of principal left ideals of R, or of ideals of R. Then the group U(R) X U(R) acts on the set S by left and right multiplication.

A (control) network over a finite ring is proposed. Using semi-tensor product (STP) of matrices, a set of algebraic equations are provided to verify whether a finite set with two binary operators is a ring. It is then shown that the STP-based technique developed for logical (control) networks are applicable to (control) networks over finite rings.

Predicting extreme defects in additive manufacturing remains a key challenge limiting its structural reliability. This study proposes a statistical framework that integrates Extreme Value Theory with advanced process indicators to explore defect–process relationships and improve the estimation of critical defect sizes. The approach provides a basis for

On LCD, self dual and isodual cyclic codes over finite chain rings [PDF]
Altres ajuts: acords transformatius de la UABIn this paper, LCD cyclic, self dual and isodual codes over finite chain rings are investigated. It was proven recently that a non-free LCD cyclic code does not exist over finite chain rings.

Enumeration of Involutions of Finite Rings
In this paper, we study a special class of elements in the finite commutative rings called involutions. An involution of a ring R is an element with the property that x^2-1=0 for some x in R.

This study presents a reversible temperature sensor with high switching ratio, ∼103. The device is fabricated using PET‐ITO and carbon nanotube dispersions in alkane. Considering its application in cold chain logistics, a proof‐of‐concept with LED is showcased. Thus, a temperature drop below the threshold temperature (crystallization temperature of the

Noncatastrophic convolutional codes over a finite ring [PDF]
Noncatastrophic encoders are an important class of polynomial generator matrices of convolutional codes. When these polynomials have coefficients in a finite field, these encoders have been characterized as polynomial left prime matrices.
