The wettability of aluminum droplets (Al) on different copper substrates (Cu), where liquid Al spreads on solid Cu surfaces to form a liquid–solid interface, is studied numerically and experimentally. The experimental and numerical results show good agreement in the fast‐spreading regime.

“Attractor” solutions for the pre-hydrodynamic, far-from-equilibrium, evolution of the matter produced in relativistic heavy ion collisions have emerged as crucial descriptors of the rapid hydrodynamization of quark-gluon plasma (QGP).

Pion screening mass at finite chemical potential
We present a method to compute the responses of meson screening masses to the chemical potential by Taylor expanding the correlator using lattice QCD simulation. We start by comparing the free theory lattice results with the analytical expression.

Demonstration of a robust pseudogap in a three-dimensional correlated electronic system
We outline a partial-fractions decomposition method for determining the one-particle spectral function and single-particle density of states of a correlated electronic system on a finite lattice in the non self-consistent T-matrix approximation to ...

EDX elemental map of the pre‐oxidized MgO–steel cermet anode cross section after electrolysis. The development of inert anodes for aluminum electrolysis remains challenging due to the high corrosivity of cryolite‐based melts at 950°C–1000°C. This study investigates the corrosion and process behavior of a carbon‐free MgO–steel cermet anode derived from ...

Hot and dense QCD shear viscosity at (almost) NLO
The next-to-leading order weak-coupling shear viscosity of QCD was computed 6 years ago. However, these results have never been applied at finite baryon chemical potential μ, even though intermediate-energy heavy ion collisions and merging neutron stars ...

Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Strongly vs. weakly coupled in-medium showers: energy stopping in large-N f QED
Inside a medium, showers originating from a very high-energy particle may develop via medium-induced splitting processes such as hard bremsstrahlung or pair production.

Numerical Exploration of Thermal Shock Resistance in MgO–C Refractories
A mesostructure‐resolved numerical framework is developed to evaluate the thermal shock resistance of MgO–C refractories. By modeling interface debonding under rapid temperature changes and introducing a modified thermal shock parameter that accounts for mesocracks, the study shows how graphite content and aggregate size influence thermal shock ...

Luttinger liquid physics from infinite-system DMRG
We study one-dimensional spinless fermions at zero and finite temperature T using the density matrix renormalization group. We consider nearest as well as next-nearest neighbor interactions; the latter render the system inaccessible by a Bethe ansatz ...
