Finite-volume effects in the δ-regime
Abstract We derive a systematic perturbative expansion for the finite-volume energy spectrum of the non-linear O(N) σ-model in the δ-regime. The violation of the power-counting rules that emerges after the separation of the fast and slow modes is dealt with to all orders by use of the threshold expansion.

Generalized boost transformations in finite volumes and application to Hamiltonian methods
The investigation of hadron interactions within lattice QCD has been facilitated by the well-known quantisation condition, linking scattering phase shifts to finite-volume energies.

Finite volume effects on the chiral phase transition from Dyson–Schwinger equations of QCD
Within the framework of Dyson–Schwinger equations of QCD, we study the finite volume effects on the chiral phase transition, especially the influence on the position of the possible pseudo-critical end point (pCEP).

A Numerical Assessment of the Air Flow Behaviour in a Conventional Compact Dry Kiln
Convective drying is the most common drying strategy used in timber manufacturing industries in the developing world. In convective drying, the reduction rate of the moisture content is directly affected by the flow topology in the inlet and exit plenums

Issues in adaptive mesh refinement implementation
Physical phenomena often involve discontinuities and/or localized high-gradient areas. The numerical simulation of these problems and conventional techniques (Finite Elements, Finite Volumes, Finite Differences, and Spectral Methods) with a uniform grid ...
