Nonlinear elliptic problems with the method of finite volumes

open access: yesDifferential Equations and Nonlinear Mechanics, 2006
We present a finite volume discretization of the nonlinear elliptic problems. The discretization results in a nonlinear algebraic system of equations.

The lattice Landau gauge gluon propagator: lattice spacing and volume dependence

open access: yes, 2018
The interplay between the finite volume and finite lattice spacing is investigated using lattice QCD simulations to compute the Landau gauge gluon propagator.

Phenomenological and Physically Based Modeling of Flow Stress and Strengthening Mechanism of Inconel 718

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Nickel‐based alloys are widely used in high‐temperature applications due to their excellent mechanical strength and oxidation resistance. However, properties such as high‐temperature strength and pronounced work‐hardening make them difficult to machine.

Stochastic theory of large-scale enzyme-reaction networks: Finite copy number corrections to rate equation models

open access: yes, 2010
Chemical reactions inside cells occur in compartment volumes in the range of atto- to femtolitres. Physiological concentrations realized in such small volumes imply low copy numbers of interacting molecules with the consequence of considerable ...

Air‐Pressure–Actuated Vibroacoustic Metamaterial With Tunable Bandgap: Design, Modeling, and Characterization

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This article presents the design, modeling, and characterization of air‐pressure–actuated programmable vibroacoustic metamaterials (PVAMM). The study focuses on leveraging air pressure to dynamically tune resonance frequencies for effective noise attenuation.

Machine learning rather than trial and error to close morphodynamical tuneable parameters: Application to a two-phase/two-layer model

open access: yesJournal of Hydroinformatics
Physics-based numerical models often depend on several parameters to close. Some of them can be expressed using established theoretical or empirical closure formulations.

Weil-Petersson Volumes of the Moduli Spaces of CY Manifolds

open access: yes, 2007
In this paper it is proved that the volumes of the moduli spaces of polarized CY manifolds with respect to the Weil-Petersson metrics are finite and they are rational numbers.Comment: The paper was accepted for publication in Communication in Analysis ...

HIDDEN CHARM MOLECULES IN A FINITE VOLUME [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics: Conference Series, 2013
In the present paper we address the interaction of charmed mesons in hidden charm channels in a finite box. We use the interaction from a recent model based on heavy quark spin symmetry that predicts molecules of hidden charm in the infinite volume. The energy levels in the box are generated within this model, and several methods for the analysis of ...

Composition‐Tuned Enhancement of the Anomalous Nernst Effect in FeCo–Pt Thin Films on Rigid and Flexible Substrates

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Disordered (Fe50Co50)1−xPtx thin films exhibit a pronounced anomalous Nernst effect (ANE) with a strong composition dependence on both rigid and flexible substrates. The transverse thermoelectric response peaks near 22.5 at.% Pt, accompanied by enhanced αxy/σxy scaling, thermal transport, and ANE sensitivity.
