A Simplified Laminar Flow Model for the Pultrusion of Glass Fiber/Polyethylene Terephthalate Commingled Yarns

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
A simplified thermoplastic pultrusion model is developed to predict thermal fields in glass fiber/polyethylene terephthalate (GF/PET) composites with reduced computational cost. By combining effective material homogenization, validation against literature data, and Gaussian‐process‐based optimization, the study reveals how heating limits, pulling speed,

Topological properties of the range of a group-valued finitely additive measure

open access: yes, 1985
The aim of this paper is the investigation of the topological properties of the range of a finitely additive measure with values in a topological group.

Rafting of Ni‐Based Superalloys Under Multiaxial Load as Understood by Phase‐Field Simulations and Critical Experiments

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Phase‐field simulations coupled with dislocation‐density‐based crystal plasticity modeling reproduce γ′ rafting behavior in single‐crystal Ni‐based superalloys under varied loading conditions. The model captures both macroscopic creep and microscopic morphology evolution, with results matching high‐temperature creep experiments.

Finitely Additive Supermartingales [PDF]

open access: yes, 2018
The concept of finitely additive supermartingales, originally due to Bochner, is revived and developed. We exploit it to study measure decompositions over filtered probability spaces and the properties of the associated Doléans-Dade measure.

Additive Manufacturing of Continuous Fibre Reinforced Composites: Process, Characterisation, Modelling, and Sustainability

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Coalitional extreme desirability in finitely additive exchange economies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
We define a new notion of extreme desirability for economies in coalitional form. Through this, we obtain a finitely additive core-Walras equivalence theorem for an exchange economy with a measure space of agents and an infinite dimensional commodity ...

On additive property of finitely additive measures

open access: yes, 2019
By the additive property, we mean a condition under which $L^p$ spaces over finitely additive measures are complete. Basile and Rao gives a necessary and sufficient condition that a finite sum of finitely additive measures has the additive property. We generalize this result to the case of a countable sum of finitely additive meaures. An application of

Karl Popper and the Mechanisms of Hydrogen Embrittlement

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Representation of the beginning of loss of ductility rather than embrittlement. Small concentrations of hydrogen in a diffusible form within iron are well‐established to harm the mechanical integrity of steels. There are theories that attempt to explain the pernicious role of hydrogen.

Purely finitely additive measures are non-constructible objects [PDF]

open access: yes
The existence of a purely finitely additive measure cannot be proved in Zermelo-Frankel set theory if the use of the Axiom of Choice is disallowed.Finitely additive probabilities; Charges; Axiom of choice; Constructivism.
