Asymptotic behaviour of FIR filters

2000 IEEE International Symposium on Circuits and Systems (ISCAS), 2000
The recursive algorithm for the impulse response coefficients of FIR filters with maximally flat specifications was recently developed. Based on a differential equation for the almost equiripple specifications, a similar recursion is derived and presented in this paper.

FIR-median hybrid filters

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1987
This paper introduces a new generalized class of median-type filters which we call FIR-median hybrid (FMH) filters. The input signal x(n) is filtered with M linear phase FIR filters, and the output of the FMH filter is the median of the outputs of the FIR filters.

Deadbeat Dissipative FIR Filtering

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2016
In this paper, we propose a new deadbeat dissipative filter with a finite impulse response (FIR) structure for linear discrete-time systems with external disturbance; this filter is called a deadbeat dissipative FIR filter (DDFF). The new filter ensures $(Q,S,R)\text{--}\alpha$ -dissipativity and the deadbeat property based on three slack matrix ...

IIR and FIR fuzzy filters

Proceedings of 36th Midwest Symposium on Circuits and Systems, 2002
In this paper a methodology for the design of FIR and IIR fuzzy filters is presented. The choice to implement fuzzy filters rises from the obvious advantages in terms of low computational costs and easy implementation. The validation of the proposed methodology has been performed through the analysis of several examples of fuzzy filters.

On adaptive interpolated FIR filters

2004 IEEE International Conference on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 2004
The computational complexity and memory load of the adaptive finite impulse response (AFIR) filter are significant for a large filter size. The adaptive interpolated FIR (AIFIR) filter, which uses a sparse adaptive filter followed by an interpolator, has been shown to be a better alternative.

Karatsuba implementation of FIR filters

2012 Conference Record of the Forty Sixth Asilomar Conference on Signals, Systems and Computers (ASILOMAR), 2012
In this paper, the authors propose the implementation of a programmable Finite Impulse Response (FIR) filter based on the use of the Karatsuba formula. The Karatsuba formula is used to speed-up the multiplication of large numbers by splitting the operands in two parts of equal length.

Optimal Factoring of FIR Filters

IEEE Transactions on Signal Processing, 2015
New insights suggest that the most efficient FIR digital filters can be created by using a scaled sequence of stages, each representing a factor of the filter's transfer function. A crucial capability for building such filters concerns finding the best FIR filter factors, then carefully scaling and sequencing them.

Optimum FIR array filters

IEEE Transactions on Acoustics, Speech, and Signal Processing, 1988
An optimum finite impulse response (FIR) filter bank is derived that recovers a desired signal from an array of sensors in the presence of random sensor noise and one or more coherent interfering noise sources. The required filter order is determined by the relative delays between the signal and coherent noise at each sensor, and is independent of the ...
