A model for repetitive firing in neurons

Kybernetik, 1974
This paper describes a model for the generation of repetitive firing patterns in single neurons to be used as a module in large-scale network simulation studies. The model is based on the combination of extended versions of Hill's model for accomodation and of Kernell's model for adaptation.

Stochastic models for neuronal firing

Kybernetik, 1971
The mechanism of formation of neuronal spike trains on the basis of selective interaction between two processes called excitatory and inhibitory processes, is studied. The techniques of stationary point processes are used to study the delay and deletion models proposed by Ten Hoopen and Reuver.

Modeling and simulation of forest fire detection and fire spread

2017 2nd International Conference on Advanced Robotics and Mechatronics (ICARM), 2017
Fire spread model is beneficial to give suggestion for preventing from and fighting against forest fire. Factors affecting the quality of the model include accuracy, timeliness, and costing. In this paper, triangular fuzzy number is defined first, then build an AHP model based on triangular fuzzy number (F-AHP), and recognize the weight of the three ...

Fire Modeling

Volume 6: 16th Computers in Engineering Conference, 1996
Abstract The mathematical modeling approach to simulating fire development in a multi-room building complements the experimental approach and/or post-fire on-site investigations. Fire simulation models provide estimates of the amount and temperature of the smoke layer produced, the evolution of toxic gases, and the amount of time ...

Fire modeling and fire behavior in rooms

Symposium (International) on Combustion, 1981
A brief review is made of fire modelling including reference to some fire models not involving combustion processes. Current fire models are capable of accommodating considerable complexities but the paper describes a new simple model of the compartment fire, which despite its crudity illustrates several features of room fires.

A Simulation Model for Forest Fires

2006
The control of forest fires is a very important problem for many countries around the world. Proper containment and risk management depend on the availability of reliable forecasts of the flame front propagation under the prevailing wind conditions, taking into account the terrain features and other environmental variables.

Model of large pool fires

Journal of Hazardous Materials, 2006
A two zone entrainment model of pool fires is proposed to depict the fluid flow and flame properties of the fire. Consisting of combustion and plume zones, it provides a consistent scheme for developing non-dimensional scaling parameters for correlating and extrapolating pool fire visible flame length, flame tilt, surface emissive power, and fuel ...

Fire shapes and the adequacy of fire-spread models

Ecological Modelling, 1983
Abstract It has been suggested that shapes of burned areas resulting from fires spreading under uniform fuel and meteorological conditions may be described as ellipses, double ellipses, or ovoids. The adequacy of these shapes (together with simulation outputs) as bases for fire spread models was tested by finding the best fits of each shape to maps ...

Chemical Modeling of Fire Gases

Journal of Fire Sciences, 1995
When a fuel containing C, H, and O burns, CO 2 and H 2 O are the major combustion products and, depending on the conditions, CO, unburnt gasified fuel, and other products of incomplete combustion are produced.

CFD Modeling of Tunnel Fires

2014
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) modeling has been widely used for performance-based tunnel fire safety design in engineering applications. A CFD tool divides a computation domain into a large number of small cells, and solves a set of differential equations with sub-models using different solution algorithms.
