Flexible fire retardant polyisocyanate modified neoprene foam [PDF]

open access: yes, 1973
Lightweight, fire resistant foams have been developed through the modification of conventional neoprene-isocyanate foams by the addition of an alkyl halide polymer.

Separation and recovery of materials from scrap printed circuit boards [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Printed circuit boards from waste computers, televisions, and mobile phones were pyrolysed in a fixed bed reactor with the aim of separating and recovering the organic and metallic materials.

Recent Developments in Sustainable Composites for Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs): A Review

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, EarlyView.
This review presents the potential of using natural plant fibers and biodegradable polymers as sustainable printed circuit boards (PCBs). This review provides future directions in innovation and sustainable PCBs development. Bio‐composites PCBs are both environmentally friendly and sustainable due to the natural fibres they contain.

Chemical Ionization Mass Spectrometry: Fundamental Principles, Diverse Applications, and the Latest Technological Frontiers

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The review examines the evolution of chemical ionization mass spectrometry (CI‐MS), a technique developed in 1966 by Field and Munson. CI is a soft‐ionization method that produces more intense molecular ions with less fragmentation than electron ionization (EI).

Performance improvement of carbon fiber‐reinforced ABS composites by introducing fullerene nanoparticles

open access: yesPolymer International, EarlyView.
Fullerene particles were incorporated with CF‐reinforced acrylonitrile–butadiene–styrene terpolymer (ABS) matrix at three different compositions by a melt‐compounding process. These insights are crucial for the optimization of conductive hybrid composites for various applications.

The co-pyrolysis of flame retarded high impact polystyrene and polyolefins [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
The co-pyrolysis of brominated high impact polystyrene (Br-HIPS) with polyolefins using a fixed bed reactor has been investigated, in particular, the effect that different types brominated aryl compounds and antimony trioxide have on the pyrolysis ...

Nitroxide‐Mediated Polymerization Synthesis of Geminal Bisphosphonate‐Functionalized (Co)polymers and Their Affinity to Hydroxyapatite Surface

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
A novel styrenic monomer bearing gem‐bisphosphonate groups is synthesized in a single step. The nitroxide‐mediated (co)polymerization of this monomer proceeds in a well‐controlled manner, yielding bisphosphonate‐functionalized (co)polymers with low dispersity.

Halogenation of microcapsule walls [PDF]

open access: yes, 1972
Procedure for halogenation of confining walls of both gelatin and gelatin-phenolic resin capsules is similar to that used for microencapsulation. Ten percent halogen content renders capsule wall nonburning; any higher content enhances flame-retardant ...
