Why Will Polymers Win the Race for Solid‐State Batteries?

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polymer‐based electrolytes are leading solid‐state battery contenders by balancing processability, mechanical compliance, and interfacial compatibility. Their tunable chemistry enables scalable, cost‐effective manufacturing, overcoming oxide/sulfide limitations.

Electroplating Carbon Nano‐Onion on Copper for Dendrite‐Free and Anode‐Free Zinc‐Ion Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Zinc‐ion batteries are emerging as safe and cost‐effective alternatives to lithium‐ion batteries, but suffer from dendrite formation and unstable anodes. An electroplating approach for preparing a carbon nano‐onion (CNO)‐embedded‐Cu layer on Cu foil is presented, which enables highly reversible zinc plating/stripping (99.89% efficiency over 1400 cycles)

A Thermally Stable Piezoresistive Textile for Reliable Tactile Sensing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A heat‐resistant piezoresistive textile based on silicon oxycarbide/carbon core–shell fibers is developed using scalable airflow‐assisted spinning. The textile retains tactile sensing performance at 250°C for 24 h and endures temperatures up to 495°C for 4 h.

Tailored Electro–Magnetic–Porous Multigradient Nanoarchitectonics for Absorption‐Dominated Electromagnetic Interference Shielding and Adaptive Multifunctionality

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An electro–magnetic–porous multigradient nanofibrous electromagnetic interference (EMI) membrane is fabricated via shear‐induced in situ fibrillation and layer‐by‐layer assembly. Leveraging a multigradient‐induced “impedance matching–polarization–reabsorption” synergistic mechanism, the membrane achieves absorption‐dominated high‐efficiency EMI ...

Conceptualising quality early childhood education: Learning from young children in Brazil and South Africa through creative and play‐based methods

open access: yesBritish Educational Research Journal, EarlyView., 2023
Abstract Early childhood has increasingly been acknowledged as a vital time for all children. Inclusive and quality education is part of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, with the further specification that all children have access to quality pre‐primary education.
