Predicting EU Emissions Allowance Prices Using Macroeconomic Indicators and Hybrid AI Models
ABSTRACT Predicting carbon allowance prices has grown more crucial in relation to carbon market regulation, financial strategy, and environmental policy development. This study examines a hybrid forecasting system that combines deep learning with ensemble machine learning models to forecast the price fluctuations of EU Emissions Allowance (EUAs) within

Management Considerations for Prescribed Fires in Riparian Zones of Florida
Riparian zones connect a body of water and upland habitat and provide many ecosystem services. In many southeastern US ecosystems, prescribed fires are a management tool, yet little is known about how fire impacts the riparian zone.

Striking a Bargain: Narrative Identification of Wage Bargaining Shocks
ABSTRACT Wage markup shocks, an important driver of business cycles, are hard to pin down. We quantify the importance of exogenous variation in wage bargaining power, one source of those shocks, from German minimum wage introduction episodes and strikes. This disciplines the impulse responses of unemployment and output, and sharpens inference for other

Climatic Drivers of the Area Burned by Winter Wildfires in Northern Italy
This study investigates winter wildfires occurring between November and April in northern Italy over the period 2008–2022. By integrating high‐resolution burned‐area data with gridded climatic indices derived from 150 weather stations, it identifies spatial and temporal wildfire patterns, highlights the most fire‐prone mountain areas through pixel ...

The study provides insights for post‐processing climate model output in complex terrain, useful for climate change impact models. We compared different bias adjustment and downscaling techniques from quantile delta mapping to simple lapse rates. We developed a new spatial downscaling method based on principal components analysis, which showed superior ...

Spatiotemporal Characteristics and Synoptic Patterns of Dry‐Hot Winds (Sukhoviys) in Ukraine
This study analyses dry‐hot winds, or sukhoviys, a recurrent phenomenon during the warm season across Ukraine that contributes to rapid moisture loss from soil and vegetation. The activity of sukhoviy events was assessed using the introduced Sukhoviy Station Index, accounting for their meteorological characteristics and frequency of occurrence.
