Modulation of miR‐23b Wnt/β‐catenin Axis Strengthens Endothelial Barrier Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Early blood‐brain barrier (BBB) disruption contributes to stroke and CNS disease pathology. miR‐23b was identified as a regulator of BBB integrity in brain endothelial cells. Inhibition of miR‐23b enhanced barrier‐associated properties, promoted repair‐related signaling, and reduced BBB leakage in experimental stroke models, supporting further ...

IMPLEMENTATION BLUETOOTH LOW ENERGY ON THE MEDICAL SUPPORTING DEVICE [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Non-compliance from a patient is a serious problem, with a big consequence in case of health and costs. ECCT B.V. tries to develop some supporting devices expected to help patients to report their compliance.

Reconstructing rational functions with FireFly [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We present the open-source C++ library FireFly for the reconstruction of multivariate rational functions over finite fields. We discuss the involved algorithms and their implementation.

The complete mitochondrial genome of the firefly, Pteroptyx maipo (Coleoptera: Lampyridae)

open access: yesMitochondrial DNA. Part B. Resources, 2017
We report the complete mitochondrial genome of firefly, Pteroptyx maipo. The circular genome of 16,127 bp has a base composition of A (44.22%), C (11.60%), G (8.23%) and T (35.96%).

CD4+ Tregs Drive Post‐Ischemic Sprouting Angiogenesis via Endothelial YY1/MAML1 Reactivation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Microvascular complications of diabetes are chronic diseases of small vessels. We previously found that CD4+ regulatory T‐cells (Tregs) are markedly reduced in type 2 diabetes (T2D) after ischemic injury in both mice and humans, and that Treg deficiency in immunodeficient mice impairs vascular regeneration.

Flash communication pattern analysis of fireflies based on computer vision

open access: yesIJAIN (International Journal of Advances in Intelligent Informatics), 2020
Previous methods for detecting the flashing behavior of fireflies were using either a photomultiplier tube, a stopwatch, or videography. Limitations and problems are associated with these methods, i.e., errors in data collection and analysis, and it is ...

Redox‐Dependent Chaperoning of GBF1 Condensates Regulates Seed Germination in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In dormant seeds (low ROS), GBF1 forms liquid condensates to repress the germination gene CathB3, and the chaperone GIP1 maintains condensate liquidity and repressive activity. Upon imbibition (high ROS), ROS oxidize GIP1 during germination, impairing its chaperone function.
