Prey preference of Eupeodes corollae (Dip.: Syrphidae) on different nymphal instars of Brevicoryne brassicae (Hem.: Aphididae) [PDF]
The prey stage preferences of the second and third instar larvae of syrphid fly species Eupeodes corollae (Fabricius) on different nymphal instars of Brevicoryne brassicae (L.) were studied in no-choice and choice conditions (25 ± 2°C, 65 ± 5% R.H ...

Soybean induced resistance to Spodoptera eridania herbivory
SOD, CAT, APX, PPO, KTI, and MDA levels were higher in the resistant soybean. S. eridania herbivory increased H2O2 and MDA, but decreased SOD and PPO levels. S. eridania herbivory increased KTI activity only in the resistant variety. Isoquercitrin and daidzin were exclusive to resistant and susceptible soybeans.

Extraguild prey reduces cannibalism and intraguild predation in Buchananiella whitei, while first‐instar nymphs dominate most predatory mites, with outcomes affected by body size and behavioral traits. Abstract BACKGROUND Cannibalism and intraguild predation (IGP) are common interactions among predators that can influence the effectiveness of ...

Modelling the phenology of the grapevine leafhopper Erasmoneura vulnerata
This study developed and validated a phenological population dynamics model for Erasmoneura vulnerata, integrating field monitoring and literature data to reproduce observed seasonal patterns across multiple sites. Abstract BACKGROUND Erasmoneura vulnerata (Fitch) (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae) is an invasive Nearctic leafhopper that has become a pest of ...

The effect of choice and no-choice access on host (Aphis fabae) instars preference, in different ages and sizes of Lysiphlebus fabarum (Hymenoptera: Braconidae: Aphidiinae) [PDF]
The influence of parasitoids on population dynamics is affected by host instar preference. The preference pattern of host instars is not fixed and is modified by the availability and relative abundance of host instars, intensity of defensive behaviors in

Adult Halyomorpha halys and Nezara viridula rapidly moved between berry crops and companion plants. Habitat use varied across environmental contexts, demonstrating that companion plantings function as dynamic elements in diversified cropping systems. Abstract BACKGROUND The brown marmorated stink bug Halyomorpha halys and the southern green stink bug ...
