Modern state for stocks of Sakhalin-Hokkaido herring Clupea pallasii at the coast of Sakhalin Island and southern Kuril Islands

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2022
Data of bottom trawl surveys at southwestern Sakhalin and surveys of the herring spawning grounds at southern Sakhalin and Kuril Islands are summarized, with assessment of the spawning grounds size and the eggs density in clutches. Fishery statistics and

Effects of seagrass restoration on coastal fish abundance and diversity

open access: yesConservation Biology, 2023
Abstract Restoration is accelerating to reverse global declines of key habitats and recover lost ecosystem functions, particularly in coastal ecosystems. However, there is high uncertainty about the long‐term capacity of restored ecosystems to provide habitat and increase biodiversity and the degree to which these

Tau acetylation at K331 has limited impact on tau pathology in vivo

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We mapped tau post‐translational modifications in humanized MAPT knock‐in mice and in amyloid‐bearing double knock‐in mice. Acetylation within the repeat domain, particularly around K331, showed modest increases under amyloid pathology. To test functional relevance, we generated MAPTK331Q knock‐in mice.

Acoustic researches of arctic cod Boreogadus saida (Gadidae) in the southwestern Chukchi Sea in 2003–2020

open access: yesИзвестия ТИНРО, 2022
Spatial distribution patterns and abundance of arctic cod Boreogadus saida are considered for the southwestern Chukchi Sea on the data of acoustic surveys and trawl samples obtained by TINRO research vessels in 2003–2020.

An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

ABL kinase‐dependent phosphorylation of SH proteins promotes their direct interaction with CRK family SH2 domains

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CT10 regulator of kinase (CRK) and CRK‐Like (CRKL) are signaling adaptors driving cell adhesion, motility, differentiation, and proliferation. SH2‐domain containing (SH) proteins are enriched in YXXP motifs which when phosphorylated create preferred binding sites for CRK family SH2 domains.

The Abundance and Diversity of Larval and Juvenile Fish in a Tropical Estuary

open access: yesEstuaries, 1994
The larval and juvenile fish of the Cayenne river estuary (French Guiana, South America) were sampled at two stations from June 1989 until October 1990. A total of 52,989 individuals from 59 species, some still incompletely identified, were collected.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.
