Fish Bulletin No. 86. The Commercial Fish Catch of California For the Year 1950 with A Description of Methods Used in Collecting and Compiling the Statistics

open access: yes, 1952
The purpose of this bulletin is to present with the current statistics a record of the changes that have been made in the forms and in the routine of collecting and processing the statistics of California's fish catch. While these changes in themselves are often trivial, they are nonetheless of vital importance in using and interpreting the past ...

Preliminary report from a study of species composition, size composition and distribution of the fish in a fjord of western Norway based on regularly conducted experimental fishing and catch statistics during one year

open access: yes, 1986
This paper is a contribution to the research program investigating the possibility of building up the local cod population in Masfjorden, a fjord in the westen Norway, by releasing large numbers of artificially produced young cod. Both the local cod stock as well as other fish species will be studied over a 2-3 year period before a large number of ...

Bushmeat consumption frequency and preferences among rural households in a West African savanna landscape: Implications for food security and conservation

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract The drivers of consumer demand for bushmeat are relatively well studied in tropical forest systems, but much less so in savanna areas. This is important because differing ecological and socio‐economic conditions lead to different factors affecting the relationship between local communities and their natural resources.

Electrified rhythms: How hydropower infrastructure transforms hydrosocial relations of riverine communities in the Lower Sogamoso River, Colombia

open access: yesPeople and Nature, EarlyView.
Abstract Hydropower dams regulate water flows for millions of downstream inhabitants worldwide, altering water availability. However, it can also disrupt ecological flows, impact livelihoods and erode environmental

Using expert elicitation to predict feral cat, Felis catus, responses to management

open access: yesPest Management Science, EarlyView.
We generated estimates of lethal feral cat management success for 864 scenarios, only 71 lethal management scenarios met a population reduction target of 57%. Cat‐targeted poison baits, in dry conditions and arid areas were most successful. Feral cat management requires continued adaptive strategies to reduce cat impacts.
